Whale sharks are not whales, they are sharks. Although these huge sea creatures are called ‘whale sharks’, they are not actually whales, but filter-feeding sharks, often referred to as "gentle giants". They are also the world’s largest fish, usually growing to 12 metres in length, although a fully-grown whale shark can reach up to an incredible 20 metres long and weigh 20 tonnes.

The Terracotta Army is a mesmerising collection of terracotta sculptures made of clay. It depicts the armies of China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. An example of funerary art, it was made with the symbolic intention of protecting the emperor in his afterlife. The army dates from the third century BC and numbers approximately 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots and 520 horses. It tells us a lot about how Chinese soldiers were equipped at the time, the weapons they used and the clothes they wore.
