NON BY LUAMBO FRANCO FEATURING MADILU SYSTEM & TPOK JAZZ WITH
ENGLISH TRANSLATED SUBTITLED LYRICS.

The song NON was not supposed to be sung by Madilu System, Luambo
Makiadi Franco had anticipated the song, to be sung by his TPOK JAZZ
crème de la crème vocalists, like Josky Kiambukuta & Ntesa Dalienst.
But since Josky Kiambukuta and Ntesa were among the vocalists who were
arrested for singing HELLENI & JACKY in 1978. They did not want to
be on the wrong side of the law once again. They refused to sing this
song because the song "NON" attacks "UGLY WOMEN". They feared that
someone could file a complain for them to be sent to jail again.

Madilu was new in OK JAZZ, he had joined on 8th April 1980. And since
things were not favoring him, because Luambo Franco was harsh towards
him. He was planning to flee to Swiss with his friends. He accidentally
met Luambo as he was about to step out, then Luambo asked him to follow
him upstairs, there was a melody of a song that he wanted Madilu to save
for him in a cassette tape. They went upstairs and practiced as they
recorded their voices. Then Luambo played that tape, in their car while
running errands in the city of Brussels, with his late wife Madam ANNIE
MBULI. Madam ANNIE MBULI liked the vocals and convinced Franco to do a
recording with Madilu System in studio. This is the song that raised
Madilu System's star in OK JAZZ.

HOMMAGE A LUAMBO BY SIMARO LUTUMBA
Is a song that was composed by, Mr Lutumba Simaro to pay homage to his
departed boss Mr Luambo Makiadi. The vocals of this song were done by
Mr. Djo Mpoyi Kanyida. If you listen to the lyrics of this song, you
will realize that Mr. Lutumba Simaro was mourning his boss as he
narrated about the events that transpired before his boss died. Mr
Simaro was to Travel on Saturday 14th October 1989 to see his boss at
Namur Hospital in Belgium, but unfortunately Mr. Luambo Makiadi died on
12th October 1989, which was 2 days before their agreed date to meet.
Mr. Simaro was so disappointed because his boss had left before leaving a
message for his only son Mr. Yves Emongo Luambo. Luambo Makiadi Franco
had teased his mother to begin travelling abroad now that her son was a
star, this was because mama Hellene Mbonga Makiesse had a phobia of
traveling.
