Oyster mushrooms finally fruited after a year of almost no rain. I never watered the mushrooms logs this year, I just let Mother Nature raise them. Unfortunately because of the drought over the summer, the logs didn’t retain enough moisture for an earlier fall fruiting. The few fall rains we did have were enough to produce these flushes though.
Growing mushrooms naturally (sustainably) allows you to focus on other projects and crops. Mushrooms shouldn’t be your main crop if you’re using sustainable methods. Mushrooms are valuable but not as profitable when you remove the plastic. Plastic allows big business (and small business) to maximize profits without consideration of their waste.
Plastic is now in our soil, in our water supply, in our food and now it’s in our bodies. It causes significant health issues and harms wildlife, so it has no place in our future.
The future of every industry is sustainability. Plastic is not a convenience if it causes far more inconveniences with its use.
If you live in a colder climate, now is a great time to start Ginger or Turmeric indoors for outdoor planting in the spring. A bountiful harvest in the fall starts within the depths of Winter. I'll be sharing a video soon on how to start them indoors, but for now enjoy these pictures of Raven eating a Ginger plant from last year. (should have named her Ginger)
Also, just wanted to say thank you to all those who have subscribed to the channel... I wasn't expecting to have over 250 subscribers but I am very grateful.
One of my many research projects has been into cultivation of the Snow Fungus mushroom. The first part of my Snow Fungus cultivation series is available now. Thank you for the support!

Is there any farming or mycology related topics you want to learn more about?
I'm planning some research projects and would love to answer any questions.
Let me know in the comments below.
p.s. I just want to say thank you to the 825 subscribers and all the support
