The oarfish resides in the Midnight Zone (200-1,000 meters deep), rarely venturing to the surface. However, on February 9, 2025, beachgoers at Playa El Quemado in Baja California Sur, Mexico, encountered a live oarfish near the shore—a sight both mesmerizing and unsettling.

📜 The Japanese Legend – A Warning from the Sea Gods?
In Japanese folklore, the oarfish is called the "Ryugu no Tsukai" (Messenger from the Dragon Palace). According to legend, its appearance foretells earthquakes and tsunamis. Shivaji Maharaj & The Divine Blessing of Goddess Bhavani
To strengthen his empire, Shivaji sought the divine grace of Bhavani Mata. He meditated intensely at SriSailam Kshetram, leaving his ministers and commanders in awe as he remained in deep penance, unaffected by worldly matters.

🌿 Moved by his devotion, Goddess Bhavani appeared before him and gifted him the legendary sword—The Bhavani Khadga. She blessed him, saying, "As long as you wield this sword, no enemy shall defeat you. Go forth and establish the Hindavi Empire."

⚔ With divine power in his hands and unshakable faith in his heart, Shivaji Maharaj went on to create history, building forts, uniting Hindus, and protecting the sacred land of Bharat.

Even today, in the Veera Shaiva Matha near SriSailam, one can witness the stone carving depicting Goddess Bhavani gifting the sword to Shivaji Maharaj—a testament to his divine connection with SriSailam.
