Psalm 118:17 (KJV):

“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.”

This verse is a declaration of life, a refusal to give in to the enemy’s lies, and a commitment to continue proclaiming God’s goodness. When the enemy whispers despair, stand firm in this truth—your life has purpose, and God is not finished with you yet.

Another powerful verse is Isaiah 41:10 (KJV):

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

Whenever those dark thoughts try to creep in, speak these verses aloud and rebuke the enemy in Jesus’ name. You are loved, you are needed, and God has a plan for you.

A Warrior Redeemed: My Journey with God

I once walked a path of darkness—crime, violence, deception, even bloodshed. My hands, my mind, my soul bore the weight of a past I can never erase. I lived by the sword, trapped in a world where trust was weakness and survival meant striking first. But even in the depths of that life, God never abandoned me.

When I had nothing left—when the guilt, the anger, the demons of my past tried to consume me—He called me out of it. He didn’t wait for me to be perfect. He didn’t wait for me to clean myself up. He reached into the mess, into the chaos, and pulled me into His light.

Now I live in Him. I have been washed clean by His grace, redeemed by the blood of Christ. But my demons still whisper. They claw at my mind, trying to drag me back into a war that’s already been won. Some days, the weight of who I used to be feels unbearable. But I remind myself of this truth: I am not who I was. I am who He says I am.

I will not let my past define me. I will not let my demons dictate my future. In the name of Jesus, I stand as a new creation. When doubt creeps in, when temptation knocks, when the ghosts of my past try to haunt me, I will look back at these words and remember—my fight is no longer mine alone.

God is my strength. My faith is my weapon. My past is dead, and I am alive in Christ.

This is my testimony. This is my reminder. This is my truth.

Un Guerrero Redimido: Mi Camino con Dios

Una vez caminé por un camino de oscuridad: crimen, violencia, engaño, incluso derramamiento de sangre. Mis manos, mi mente y mi alma llevaban el peso de un pasado que nunca podré borrar. Vivía por la espada, atrapado en un mundo donde la confianza era una debilidad y sobrevivir significaba atacar primero. Pero incluso en lo más profundo de esa vida, Dios nunca me abandonó.

Como expatriado de Los Ángeles que ha recorrido 39 países y que actualmente se encuentra en Da Nang, Vietnam, te ofrezco una visión sin filtros de lo que realmente importa.

This is a Christian Call to Arms! Saints, Angels, Knights Templar, Crusaders, Spiritual Warriors and fellow believers, today I urge you to embrace the call to spiritual warfare with courage. In the battlefield of faith, where the forces of darkness strive to tempt and deceive, stand firm in the armor of God. For it is in standing up against the devil that we discover the profound depths of love, the boundless joy, and the enduring peace that can only be found in our authentic connection with the King of Kings.

As soldiers of Christ, let our hearts be fortified by the truth that our struggles are not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil. Take up the shield of faith, wield the sword of the Spirit, and put on the armor of righteousness. Engage in prayer, not just as routine, but as a powerful weapon that kills the darkness within you.

The temptations may be strong, but remember, within the battle, lies the opportunity to showcase the strength of our faith. It is through the trials that our character is refined, and our commitment to righteousness is tested. Let us not be passive observers but active participants in the spiritual battle between good and evil.

In this Spiritual Warfare, hold onto the promise that God’s love is our refuge, His joy our strength, and His peace our anchor. Resist the whispers of doubt, reject the allure of momentary pleasures, and embrace the transformative power of Christ’s victory on the cross.

Brothers and sisters, let us rise as a united front against the schemes of the enemy. For in our active engagement, we find not only the strength to overcome but also the love, joy, and peace that our Heavenly Father promised us as rewards. Stand firm, stand strong, and let the light of your faith trample over the puny shadows of darkness that are still left to destroy—in the Name of Jesus! Amen.

Sometimes in our walk with Christ we may feel like we are alone. It is in those times when positive self talk is vital. Here is what I told myself: Lazarus, I hear the weight of your words, and I want to remind you of something important: you didn’t fail God. You stumbled, yes, but God’s love for you isn’t based on your perfection—it’s based on His grace, mercy, and unshakable commitment to you.

We all fall short at times. What matters now is how you respond. Acknowledge your slip, bring it to God in prayer, and allow His forgiveness to restore you. He isn’t sitting in judgment, waiting to condemn you; He’s reaching out, ready to walk with you through this struggle.

This moment doesn’t define your faith or your worth. It’s a reminder of the ongoing battle we all face in life. Use this as an opportunity to reflect and grow stronger in your resolve. You can get back on track. One misstep doesn’t erase your heart’s intentions or the progress you’ve made.

Take it one day at a time. Reach out to the support systems around you, and keep striving to live in alignment with the promise you made. You’re not alone in this—God is with you every step of the way, and I’m here for you too.

A veces, en nuestro caminar con Cristo, podemos sentirnos solos. Es en esos momentos cuando el diálogo interno positivo es vital. Esto es lo que me dije a mí mismo:

Lázaro, escucho el peso de tus palabras, y quiero recordarte algo importante: no fallaste a Dios. Tropezaste, sí, pero el amor de Dios por ti no se basa en tu perfección, sino en Su gracia, misericordia y compromiso inquebrantable contigo.

Todos fallamos en ocasiones. Lo que importa ahora es cómo respondes. Reconoce tu caída, llévala a Dios en oración y permite que Su perdón te restaure. Él no está sentado en juicio esperando condenarte; Él está extendiendo Su mano, listo para caminar contigo en esta lucha.

Este momento no define tu fe ni tu valor. Es un recordatorio de la batalla constante que todos enfrentamos en la vida. Usa esto como una oportunidad para reflexionar y fortalecerte en tu determinación. Puedes retomar el camino. Un tropiezo no borra las intenciones de tu corazón ni el progreso que has logrado.

There was a time when I had the strength to fight my demons, standing firm in my faith. Now, in what should be the most blessed season of my life—traveling the world and enjoying financial freedom—I find myself struggling to crucify the flesh. When I was in the depths of my struggles, I felt so much closer to God. But now, as the enemy attacks with the pleasures of this world, I feel my resistance slipping.

I need Christ more than ever. Please pray for me, that I may walk in His strength and not my own. If anyone is reading this. I need your prayers. The enemy lies to me everyday.

Five years ago today December 8th my father died. I was in the best shape of my life and the strongest I have ever been. His death really took a toll on me. I thought I would get to take care of him well into old age; 81, 82,83, 84 but God had different plans and took him away from me at 69. I shouldn’t have been surprised because the men in my family die young. Both Grampas in their 50’s uncle’s even younger so I guess my dad outlived them all. But man he had so much more life to live. My dad loved life and his death was violent and prolonged but not once did he complain. He made the choice to come to me from Zamora, Michoacán to Redwood Valley, California just so he can die with dignity. He knew I would do whatever it took to get the family together for that final moment and I did. We are a dysfunctional bunch but I made it happen. It was the hardest time of my life. It was also the closest I have ever been to Christ.

Since then life has been hard. I have been immersed in God’s blessings but lowkey struggle a lot. I need my dad. He was always so positive and I learned a lot from watching him. He would pray the rosary and go to church without fail. I love you dad. I miss you dad. I will never be the man you were because the standard you set was extremely high. You worked, you hustled and people loved you. Not one person could speak bad about you because you helped everyone out even though you didn’t have much yourself.

Pray for me dad. Tell God that I can’t do it on my own. That I struggle to be a good Catholic man like you were. Tell Him that I want to go to Heaven and not to hell.

Hace cinco años, un día como hoy, 8 de diciembre, murió mi padre. Yo estaba en la mejor forma de mi vida, más fuerte que nunca. Su muerte me afectó profundamente. Pensé que podría cuidarlo hasta que fuera anciano; 81, 82, 83, 84 años, pero Dios tenía otros planes y se lo llevó a los 69. No debería haberme sorprendido porque los hombres de mi familia mueren jóvenes. Ambos abuelos fallecieron en sus 50, algunos tíos incluso más jóvenes, así que supongo que mi papá los superó a todos en años. Pero, hombre, tenía tanto por vivir aún.

A mi papá le encantaba la vida y su muerte fue violenta y prolongada, pero ni una sola vez se quejó. Tomó la decisión de venir a mí desde Zamora, Michoacán, hasta Redwood Valley, California, solo para morir con dignidad. Sabía que haría lo que fuera necesario para reunir a la familia en ese último momento, y lo hice. Somos un grupo disfuncional, pero lo logré. Fue el momento más difícil de mi vida. También fue el momento en el que estuve más cerca de Cristo.

Desde entonces, la vida ha sido difícil. He estado rodeado de las bendiciones de Dios, pero en silencio lucho mucho. Necesito a mi papá. Él siempre era tan positivo, y aprendí mucho al observarlo. Rezaba el rosario y nunca fallaba en ir a la iglesia. Te amo, papá. Te extraño, papá. Nunca seré el hombre que tú fuiste porque el estándar que dejaste es extremadamente alto. Trabajabas, te esforzabas, y la gente te quería. Nadie podía hablar mal de ti porque ayudabas a todos, aunque no tenías mucho para ti mismo.

Reza por mí, papá. Dile a Dios que no puedo hacerlo solo. Que lucho para ser un buen hombre católico como tú lo fuiste. Dile que quiero ir al cielo y no al infierno.
