Off the back of this one, I'm interesting in hearing from those that use the EDF and EON smart packages.

Yes, I could look at the T&C etc, but interested in real world views, to compare to the Octopus IOG that I know.

How many cheap hours a day do you get?
Is there a maximum number per day?
Are all cheap slots charged at the off peak rate?
How much the the smart charging cost a month?
How do you get notified of the extra slots (when you plug the car in?)

And anything else you think could be useful for a comparison with IOG.

Thanks, Mick

When I started posting videos and the podcast back in February, I had no idea how it would go. Milestones like this just blow my mind really...... thanks everyone for your support.

Does anyone have any experience with the pricing of LPG for heating?

Or where I might find historical and current pricing?

It seems like hard data to get hold of?
So any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Mick

There's much concern about tariff pricing and rises prices right now.

What's your plans? Are you planning on fixing? Or riding it out?

Let us know what kit your have (heat pump, ev, solar, battery or even none) and what tariff you're planning on being on through the winter.

Personally, i'm gonna be sticking with Intelligent Octopus Go so I can charge the EV off peak and also fill the batteries at the same time. Then use the batteries in conjunction with the solar to get through as much of the day as I can. Not always possible on solar/battery only once the cold weather comes and the heat pump needs more electricity. But It certainly helps.

The prices on Octopus Tracker are pretty high right now..... doesn't bode well into the winter and for January price cap.

National avg pricing for Octopus Energy Tracker Tariff (SILVER-26-04-01)

Recent Prices
Tue 15 Sep, Elec:32.94p, Gas:10.34p
Mon 14 Sep, Elec:33.84p, Gas:10.02p
Sun 13 Sep, Elec:33.8p, Gas:10.03p

The only blip there with the electricity price was when there was a load of wind and solar knocking about.

So after what seemed like wall to wall high wholesale all week, we get this for a Saturday afternoon.

National average pricing for Octopus Energy Agile Tariff: Sat 12-09-2026

Min: -2.6p (11:00)

Any plans to make use of the negatively priced energy?
