B'roque Cowgirl Homestead

Just sharing bits and pieces of my life in Southeast Texas. Chickens, Nigerian Dwarf milk goats, beef cattle, quail, gardening and home canning. We have been on this journey 35 years, on land that has been in the family since 1850, 8 generations on this land. I guess you could say we have been homesteading before homesteading was a thing. Our kids are grown and out of the house, so I am having the time of my life with my husband, my garden, and our critters.

We had a freeze last night. My corn and cucumbers were up. I covered the cucumbers with Styrofoam cups and weighted them so they wouldn't blow off. Then covered my corn with hay, and my strawberry bed covered with a piece of tin. Just came in from uncovering everything and it all looks good. Yay!!!
