But the good news is I came away with some wicked bad sounds, and I mean "bad" in the very best way. These recordings are too good to rush, so I’m getting everything loaded up and ready.

Tomorrow night at 9:00 PM Pacific, we’re going live for the Studio L7 ASMR Sunday Night Hangout.

This is the late-night table where we slow things down, talk a little life, a little sound, a little content creation, and whatever else wanders into the room wearing headphones. No big production. No fake polish. Just a calm Sunday night hangout with the Studio L7 crew.

We’ll talk about what’s coming up this week, the sounds I’m working on, what’s happening behind the scenes, and probably drift into a few stories about cameras, microphones, coffee, field recording, and the ongoing mystery.

Studio L7 ASMR

Alright, alright, alright…

Starting next week, I’m going to begin loading the first Studio L7 Night Shift Sound Packs.

These will be downloadable sounds for Night Shift members' triggers, tapping, crinkles, mic brushing, field recordings, ambient sound beds, coffee shop sounds, ride sounds, and whatever other weird little noises I point a microphone at.

Trigger packs will be around 10 minutes long, and ambient packs will run anywhere from about 5 to 20 minutes.

And yes… with fireworks coming up, I’m going to try to capture some distant fireworks sounds too. Not the crazy “blow your speakers up” kind I’m talking about the far-off booms, neighborhood ambience, summer night air, distant pops, and that sleepy little Fourth of July atmosphere.

Night Shift members will be able to use these sounds in their own projects too videos, podcasts, livestreams, sleep tracks, meditation tracks, client work, and more.

The library will keep growing over time.

Night Shift isn’t just bonus content anymore.

Starting next Monday, I’ll be adding fresh new sounds to the Studio L7 24/7 livestream.

The stream will keep doing what it does best: calm background sound for sleep, study, work, stress relief, late-night thinking, and people who just need something peaceful running in the background.

Each week, I’ll be loading in new recordings, coffee shop ambience, walking sounds, quiet field recordings, soft textures, night sounds, and whatever else I capture out in the wild.

Starting soon, I'll be adding a new feature to KEWL Radio called The KEWL Update.

Twice a day, at 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM Pacific, I'll be checking in with a quick update about what's happening on KEWL Radio, what's coming up this week, what new sounds have been added to the 24/7 stream, and where we're headed next.

Think of it like the updates you'd hear on a real radio station.

You'll hear about upcoming KEWL episodes, Behind the Sounds, Sunday Night Hangout, Night Shift exclusives, and some of the new audio-only experiences I'm working on.

Speaking of audio-only...

I've been experimenting with creating a library of sound experiences from real places. Not videos. Not podcasts. Just long-form recordings from interesting locations and sound sources.

Alright, alright, alright…

I’ve been testing something new with KEWL, and I ran it by some of you during the live stream. Good news: you guys seemed to like the idea, and honestly, so do I.

The KEWL stream is now becoming more like a real late-night sound station.

When I’m not live, you’ll see the KEWL logo on screen and hear sounds from KEWL Radio and KEWL After Dark. That means relaxing field recordings, night sounds, studio sounds, driving ambience, coffee shop atmosphere, and whatever else I find out in the world.

Night or day, if I find a good sound, it can now become part of the station.

Then, when I break in live, you’ll actually see me on screen. That’s when the studio lights come on, we hang out, talk sounds, test ideas, and see where the night goes.

So think of it like this:

KEWL is always playing.
Sometimes it’s the station.
Sometimes it’s After Dark.
And sometimes, I break in live.

Tonight on the Sunday Night Hang Out. we’re finally getting ready to record some fresh sounds for the legendary soup can mic. Yes, the soup can is entering the audio era.

We’ll also be talking through some cozy sound ideas, including candle sounds, match striking, soft little fire-starting clicks, and whatever other relaxing noises decide to show up before bedtime.

This is the usual late-night Studio L7 hang out: a little gear talk, a little sound planning, a little ASMR chaos, and probably me moving things around while pretending I had a system the whole time.

Studio L7 ASMR

This week on Behind the Sounds, I’m getting ready to record some real-world background sounds for relaxing, studying, sleeping, and just having something calm playing while life does whatever life is doing.

The plan is to head out to a quiet little coffee shop I like and capture the room the way it really sounds: soft voices, cups moving around, espresso machine moments, chairs, doors, little table sounds, and that calm coffee shop atmosphere that somehow makes you feel productive even if you’re just sitting there holding a cup of coffee.

I’ll be going over the gear I’m using for the KEWL Ride there, the small camera setup I’ll be using inside the coffee shop, and how I’m planning to stay low-key so I don’t draw attention or turn the whole place into a production.

The goal is simple: capture real sounds without bothering anyone, without performing, and without making the coffee shop feel like it just got invaded by a documentary crew.

This is the kind of stuff I love for KEWL Radio: real places, real sound, calm background texture, and a little behind-the-scenes gear talk before the recording happens.
