🎹 Today I jumped on a live call with an Afro-Gospel artist, Isaac.
He could sing beautifully, but he confessed something that hit hard:
“I’ve only been playing ONE chord progression my whole life… and I don’t even know what key I’m singing in.”
In less than 30 minutes, we broke down his song using syllables → melody → harmony, and for the first time, music finally made sense to him.

🎹 I keep seeing the SAME pattern with my piano students...
They can play beautifully, but there's always ONE thing holding them back:
Students who can play beautifully in C Major completely freeze up when I say:
"Let's try this in G" 😰
"Can you transpose this up a step?" 🤔
"Play your favorite song in the key of F" 😵
Then I show them this ONE simple shape and everything clicks...
