Yesterday, I read an excerpt from a book “Family Discipleship That Works”, and the statistics I saw about family discipleship were both staggering and concerning.

How is family discipleship going in your home? Are you intentionally discipling your children? Do you have a plan, a curriculum, or a blueprint?

At this time of year, churches are developing, downloading, and purchasing curricula for children and youth ministry, as well as organizing resources for the upcoming year. (I know this well, as someone fortunate to work on a church staff.)

As parents, we should have a similar approach. It’s important to plan and strategize not only for your child’s spiritual growth but for their holistic development as well.

This post was inspired by the conversation I had with one of my sisters about the fact children are underrated.

She had told me about her 2 year old daughter reciting a memory verse she had taught her a while ago and I had also mentioned that I follow a kids ministry on YouTube and they recently held a 7 hour vigil powered by children.

In fact, another sister of mine told me how her three year old prophesied and so many amazing things that you might even find difficult to believe.

We make excuses for children, we underrate them, we underexpose them because we feel they are still young, but like I always say, it's never too early to start.

Another sister of mine commented on my status and said 'Children have the same spirit now as they will when they are advanced in years'.

Children can grasp much more than you can imagine. As someone who has worked with children and teenagers for the past 18 years, I can tell you this with confidence.

This knowledge is one of the reasons why I founded Empower Kidz and Teenz Academy, to expose children early to important education that matters, to prepare them early for their purpose.

In our one year coaching and mentoring programme, we equip children and teens with personal development skills, life skills, character education, values education, etiquette, manners, age appropriate sex education......etc.....

Fathers, Fathers, Fathers!!!!! What caught my attention in this picture is the fact that a higher percentage of children remained faithful to God when Dads attended church, compared to when mums attended church. I would have thought the opposite. So, fathers have a higher spiritual influence on a child, wowww...No wonder, the devil attacks fatherhood more than he attacks motherhood. Oh Lord, please help our fathers. Cause them to rise up to their place.....
