My channel cuts through the marketing and gives a straight forward no-nonsense take on watches and everything watch world related.
I can never tell you what you should buy or if something is worth it - to you. The only way you'll know is by trying out the watch yourself.
I’m a passionate, non-expert watch lover. I know what I like, and what I don’t. I compare watches. I don't believe it's a given that the expensive watch is automatically the better watch. I don't buy into hype and I try to see through the marketing BS.
I spend way too much time obsessing and thinking about watches. Hopefully you’ll find value in watching and hearing my perspective on watches and everything watch world related.
So. Let’s talk about this watch and that watch!
..and subscribe if you enjoy the content.
Cheers!

Here I am at Watches & Wonders 2025. I thought I'd upload something I found absolutely fascinating.
I just passed by the Studio Underdog showcase to have a chat with the people of there (silly comments, I'm expecting you).
What you're seeing is a picture of ONE Original Underdog watch. And.
A San Martin copy (with a dive bezel - top mid).
A Proxima copy.
A Hideous monstrosity of a watch with eastern arabic numerals and a tachymeter scale copy (of the pink lemonade)
Several other copies/homages of Underdog watches.
Some were downright awful.
Some were on the surface well put together (albeit with quartz movements and other shortcuts) but most of all.
None were original.
This will be an upcoming video.
I have so many thoughts. Interested to hear yours.

100.000 subscribers!
Wow. Have to admit that I'm just a little bit proud. I don't know what I ever expected when I started this channel. It was just a thing I did for fun and didn't ever really have a plan.
It turns out that a lot of people out there enjoy listening to me overthink things and babble on despite me being just another nerd and not an expert in any way.
Thanks so much to all of you. It's hugely appreciated. To this day I read all comments. I love that you support me and give me praise. I also really appreciate when you call me out in those instances where I, as a non-expert, get something wrong, have a weird take or just come across a little to forceful. Your support and interaction makes my videos better as they force me to do better for you guys.
Where to from here? No clue. This is still very much a hobby and not a full time job. I suspect it will continue to stay that way. I like the independence it allows for.
Now. I'll let you in on a little secret. Back when I started this channel I actually had an idea of having two channels. One about my watch hobby and one a little more about what I do for work. I actually launched both but I quickly tabled the second channel simply because scripting, filming and editing were new to me and took WAY too much time to manage for two channels.
But you know what? The second channel is up now. I have no expectation that you should subscribe to it. It's about completely different things, but I'm letting you know it's out there.
So. Shameless plug
The channel is Work. Unusual: youtube.com/@work.unusual
The first video is about "what consultants actually do." https://youtu.be/fGyVZ8iJoFw?si=P3GHr...
In two weeks a video will be up about "Why it's so hard to get a salary increase in corporate"
And two weeks after that "What's it like working for people like Elon Musk"
Check it out or don't. It's entirely up to you.
Most importantly. Stick around here and I'll do my very best to keep making watch videos that are worth your time.
All the best
Mike

It's almost 2025, so why not have a Q&A. You know the drill. Shoot me some questions and I will do my best to give my perspective. The video will be up first thing in the new year.

ALMOST 50.000 Subs. Hopefully I'm not jinxing it, but as per tradition a milestone = a Q&A. So submit your questions here and I'll get right down to putting together the Q&A.
Thanks for all the Support

PSA SCAMMERS and IMPOSTERS: It's come to my attention that some of you have been following accounts on facebook and instragram that have my "This watch, that watch" handle.
IT's NOT ME! I only have this youtube channel for now and don't use any other SoMe channels. So beware - There may be scammers out there.

Zelos have reached out and asked if I want to take a look at some of their watches.
Would you like me to dive into Zelos?
I will, of course, receive zero payments, zero contributions of any kind and I will also not keep any watches. The only thing they will pay is shipping and duties.

I am back from Watches & Wonders. Totally beat, but it was worth it.
My next video won't be about anything W&W related. Need some time to process my thoughts.
I do want to share some initial thoughts
- The Cartier releases were much cooler than I originally felt
- I like the look of the Zenith Extreme diver releases, but they are functionally unwearable
- Green Grand Seiko? Yes please
- IWC: Cool watches. Nobody really cares. No lines. No waiting time.
- Patek on denim? Reminds me of Steve Buscemi "How do you do fellow kids?". Patek is totally trying to be cool
- Nomos. Wasn't initially impressed but when you see all those tangentes laid out, you kind of do get impressed
- Best experience: Speaking with the people at Sinn. I have gained massive respect for what they are doing. (Had a long talk about expansion membranes in oil filled watches that go to 5.000 meters)
- Second best experience: Speaking with the people at Fears watches. Also super cool
- Eye opener: It's a small insular industry. Everybody knows everybody.
- Second eye opener: It's a small insular industry. Everbody buys components from the same suppliers. I kind of knew this already, but it was cemented on this trip
- Realisation: Rolex is even more polarising than ever before. The love is still there but the hate is real
- Customer experience: The smaller brands are just nicer to you and spend more time on you. The big brands just want your email so they can send you marketing.
- I'll do a compilation review video on 5-10 of the most notable watches. I'm likely going to deep dive into GS, Zenith, Doxa and 1 or two others. I'm not sure I can be bothered with the Tudor or Rolex models in detail. They're great, but there's enough information out there already and I don't think I can bring anything new to the table.
And finally... Thanks to everybody that said hi. Still coming to terms with my "fame" but you were all super kind and it meant a ton. Thanks a million.
Cheers.
