True Story: Saturday Eben coached our kids soccer game at 8:30am. Then we threw everything into our van, set the babysitter up with enough snacks for 30 hours, and headed south to Lancaster PA
20 miles in and the battery light went on. Soon after anything electric started glitching out.
We went to 3 different rental car spots - never turning off the car - before snagging a rental, transferring all our gear, and hurling our bodies down the highway for 5 hours.
During the drive down I was plagued with existential self-doubt. Think Dread + “Does anything really matter?” vibes. Which I cave come to recognize as a precursor to TRANSFORMATION.
We played a fantastically life-affirming show with Seth Walker at West Art in Lancaster, followed by a truly magical after-show hang. Think: the trees and the breeze and the moon all courting our ecstasy Vibes.
At one point the earth pulled me into the grass and I felt my body as grass and felt a voice say “Who do you think is animating you? Why would you think *you* are doing any of this?”
Everyday since I’ve been repeating to myself “life unfolds through us and for us.”
AAA gave our car enough juice to get home, but then the alternator went for good with the car in front of our house- windows down and all. Here it stays, with a tent to keep out the rain, until our mechanic has room for it.
And that’s fine.
Life doesn’t care that we have our sh*t together, or how much money we make, or even how many people come to a show.
Life only cares that we follow our hearts and lean into the mystery.
