*പ്രിയ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളെ ഞാൻ നെയ്യാർ ലയൺസഫാരി പാർക്കിലെ അന്തേവാസാ സിയാണ്. ഞാൻ വളരെ ദുഃഖിതനും, ക്ഷീണിതനും ആയിരിക്കുന്നു. എൻ്റെ വയസ്സ് 17 കഴിഞ്ഞു. എൻ്റെ അയുസ്സ് 25 വയസ്സുവരെ നീണ്ടു നിന്നാൽ മഹാഭാഗ്യം. എൻ്റെ സഹോദരങ്ങളും, രക്ഷക ർത്താക്കളും, കൂട്ടുകാരുമായി 17 അന്തേവാസികളാണ് ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. അവരെല്ലാം മരിച്ചു. ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ ഒറ്റക്കാണ്. ഏകദേശം ആറു വർഷം മുമ്പ് വനം വകുപ്പിൻ്റെ തലപ്പത്ത് ഇരുന്ന അധികാരി ഞങ്ങളിലെ ആണുങ്ങളെ വന്ധികരിച്ചു. ആയതിനാൽ ഞാൻ ഉൾപ്പെടെ ഉള്ള പെൺ സിംഹങ്ങൾക്ക് കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ പ്രസവിക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. വന്ധികരിച്ച ഉടനെ ആ ൺ സിംഹങ്ങൾ ചാകാൻ തുടങ്ങി. വളരെ ദു:ഖമുണ്ട് എനിക്ക്. ഞാൻ ഏകയാണ്. ഏകാന്തത എന്നെ വളരെ തളർത്തുന്നു** *മരണം എൻ്റെ അരികിലെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. എൻ്റെ ഉപ്പോഴത്തെ സങ്കടം എനിക്ക് ശേഷം ഈ പാർക്ക് മൺമറയുമല്ലോ എന്ന കാര്യം ഓർത്താണ്. വനമന്ത്രി ഇവിടെ വന്ന് എനിക്ക് കൂട്ടിന് കുറച്ചു പേരെ തരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു മടങ്ങി. ഇപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ വിളിച്ചിട്ട് ഫോൺ പോലും എടുക്കുന്നില്ല. എന്തു ചെയ്യും...! ആരോടു ഞാൻ പരാതി പറയും? ആരു കേൾക്കും*???
