These results are interesting! đ
Nearly half of you said overpaying was the most expensive mistake â and that makes sense.
What Iâve seen over and over is that overpaying isnât about math.
Itâs about optimism, emotion, and timing.
Itâs rarely one bad buy â itâs your money getting tied up longer than expected.
This is why sourcing decisions matter just as much as selling skills.
Hereâs what helped me to reduce that mistake over time:
Before I buy, I pause and ask myself one question:
*If this takes longer to sell than I expect, am I still okay with this price?*
If the answer is no, thatâs usually my signal to walk away or renegotiate.
Overpaying doesnât hurt at checkout â it hurts when your money gets stuck.
Thoughts? Let's discuss!

Just got home from Orlando after a full week at PodFest!
I was so excited to be speaking on the topic of live selling! My session was titled: "The Live Selling Advantage," and I broke down what podcasters can learn from QVC, TikTok Shop, and YouTube Live to drive real engagement and monetization.
This also translates directly to jewelry reselling â where trust, storytelling, and real-time connection drives sales. These same live selling principles are especially powerful for us jewelry resellers. When youâre selling something visual, emotional, and story-driven, live selling isnât optional â itâs really the fastest way to build trust, create demand, and move inventory in real time.
I'll do an entire recap of PodFest and show you the jewelry I brought with me on my next livestream!

đ Vintage brooch sellers â curious if this has happened to you:
You run a piece through Google LensâŚ
and it confidently throws out âJulianaâ or another designer name â
âŚeven though the construction traits donât match at all.
Since a lot of resellers rely on Google Lens, I added a new refinement inside Jewelry Bestie to make reports even more construction-focused and avoid those misleading âdesigner lookalikeâ suggestions.
It now prioritizes things like era cues, stone setting style, metalwork, and structural details â not just surface-level visual similarity.
If youâve ever been burned by a bad Google Lens ID, youâll definitely notice the difference with Jewelry Bestie.
