Happy Monday - I just want to take a second to thank everyone for your support and feedback. It’s been crucial in helping understand myself more and has given me the confidence to seek a potential diagnosis.
I’m going to make a video in the next couple days discussing the results, but want to take time to process the outcome first.
Emily and I will be participating in the Out of Darkness community walk in Bellingham, WA this weekend. We do a walk with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention every year in honor of Emily’s brother, Zach.
I’m hoping to raise a small amount of money for the foundation to assist AFSP with their mission to provide suicide prevention resources, education, and support
My first session of therapy is this evening. To be transparent, I spent the last couple days trying to find a way out of going. However, I continue to understand the importance of talking to a professional thanks to your comments, so no backing out. 🙌🏼
I’m anxious and a little scared to confront past trauma, but I’m confident going through it is better than suppression.
In an attempt to provide more frequent updates, I’ll be posting on an IG account I made ages ago. Feel free to follow along if you’re looking for more frequency than YouTube.
Thank you to everyone for the thoughtful, compassionate responses to my last video.
An overwhelming number of you have recommended therapy, including my wife. To be honest, I’ve always brushed it off thinking I could figure it out on my own. “It” is more complex than simply using will power, so I’m no longer using that as an excuse.
I reached out to a local Seattle mental health company today and will be starting my journey as soon as I’m matched with a therapist.
The cure to overthinking in most areas is action, so I’m jumping in.
Are you as comfortable being alone in public as you are being alone at home?
For myself, it’s an interesting dichotomy that I’ve spent years trying to resolve. I’m very comfortable alone in my own space, but I’ve had to work on building comfort in public spaces.
For those of you who don’t know, Emily is a wonderfully talented ceramicist. If you have time, head over to IG and give her some support! She started pottery a couple years ago to help work through the loss of her amazing brother, Zach.

She’ll be selling her pottery at our local farmer’s market every Saturday and will be posting a bit more during the busy season as well.
