I’ve made the decision that at the end of this month I will be de-listing the video “No you’re wrong” from my channel. This is not a deletion, just me de-listing the video, so if you have the link you can still watch it. I may re-upload it to a separate channel but I haven’t decided yet.
The reason I am doing this is complicated. I stand by what I said in the video and I still agree with it, but what I don’t agree with is my decision to structure it in the way it was, nor my behavior surrounding it.
As much as I am still annoyed at the Chieftain for wading into the argument and still semi-blame him for unintentionally blowing it all out of proportion, I have to admit he was right. I do need to be more professional when it comes to these things.
Withholding sources sounded great in my head at the time because I was still stuck in edge lord redditor mode, but that's not the standard I should be pushing for, or even representing, it was the dumb bitch move of a whiney asshole, and I can be better.
Look, I’m not going to beat around the bush here, I’m not going to cry for attention, I’m going to be super honest with you all.
I was drunk. I was insanely drunk when I was dealing with this drama.
And this was normal for me.
I have reasons for this, they are deeply personal and I won't get into them.
I know I have a reputation as "the wine-drunk historian", but sometimes this can be more than a joke and it’s not doing me any favors. So since that whole drama, I have been in therapy.
Sounds cringe I know, but I don’t care, it’s been a massive help to me.
I’m going out more, making more friends, drinking a hell of a lot less, and in general being a better person. I’ve also been streaming semi-regularly with a few of my friends which has been a major help.
Part of that healing process is, not trying to remove any trace of the past, but accepting the person I was back then and learning to move on.
Hence why I’ll be delisting that video, not because it's wrong, not because Red or Cone don’t deserve criticism, but because the way I went about delivering that critique was wrong.
I still feel this is an important discussion to have and I do aim to revisit the T-14 Armata in the future (because it is an absolute shit festival), go over some of the things I got wrong, the updates on the tank that have come out in recent months, and the absolute rabbit hole that is its engine.
And maybe we can have that discussion without the tankiees throwing their toys out of the pram.
It’s a learning process.

I am aware I made a comment on The Chieftain's video which has garnered a certain level of negative attention. I was extremely drunk when I wrote that and I now somewhat regret making it, but I'm not going to delete it because that would be disingenuous of me. I'll take that L, and I apologize.
I was disappointed Chieftain chose to cover the dispute, especially in the manner he choose. Since his video, the drama has gotten significantly worse. Worst of all it has quite possibly opened the door to other Youtubers looking to clout chase, to blunder into the situation pretending to act as a neutral third party and "give their opinion". Chieftain, perhaps unintentionally, has elevated this situation from a somewhat amusing pissing contest between me, Cone, and Red, that was already burning out, into a full-scale drama war. This has all the Hallmarks of becoming far bigger and far worse than it already is and I feel achieves nothing further than to distract from the original context of the T-14 video and the evidence I have provided to explain my beliefs surrounding the SLA16 engine, and no-one has yet been able to provide anything which can/or has cast that belief into doubt. I want to remind everyone *that* is what is being debated here.
I get that people are miffed I did not post my sources, but the reason I did that is because we all know had I done so all my "haters"(God I hate that term) would have gone down that list one by one and found some way to have wave away each source. "But wait this is a SOVIET source and Pig, in his video, says Soviet sources are unreliable!!! So it's ok when he does it but not When Red does REEEEEEEE!!" etc etc which is not what I said and not an attitude I encourage. I would have posted them once Red and Cone had made their response videos and had either of them brought up any fair points which question my research or brought a new light to the discussion I would have answered that in good faith because the point was to prove was they don't want to do research beyond what is easy and instantly available to them, they just want to throw shade, and I think I have proven that beyond a shadow of a doubt. But since either have yet to make a response video they have the opportunity to disprove that and I highly encourage them to do so.
I'm going to be honest, I don't know how to handle this, I became a historian because I didn't want to deal with people drama, now it has arrived on my doorstep with all the grace and manner of a Battering Ram, driven by a bull, charging down the hill to attend the National Pottery and Bouncy House convention. I've spent my entire life with my fists raised, I've had to fight every step of the way to get anywhere in life and I think that does occasionally come across in my attitude and I don't think such a mindset is going to work here. I can only see any action on my part, including silence, simply making things worse. So before we get to the point where I am required, by Youtube Law, to bust out the ukulele and cry I'm announcing I have made a pitcher of sweet ice tea, another of margarita, and I've downloaded all of Downtown Abbey. I am taking a short break. I'm working on a small, silly video that me and Falcon made some time ago, I'll hopefully get that out soon.
In the meantime I ask a small favor. All of you here, my subscribers, I have the best of respect for. I remember what my life was like Pre-Youtube and I owe each and every one of you for pulling me out of that. I cannot tell you what to do, you are your own person and the choices you make are your own, but I ask of all of you to please disengage from this drama. Do not engage in discussion, even to defend me, do not respond to people talking about it, make no comments, do not watch any other Youtubers trying to "state their thoughts" and do not harass anyone who chooses to continue the discussion in whatever form it takes. I think we have reached a point where we just need to take a step back, and watch the fire in the shit factory burn itself out. I'll see you once there is less shit in the air.
