I’ve made the decision that at the end of this month I will be de-listing the video “No you’re wrong” from my channel. This is not a deletion, just me de-listing the video, so if you have the link you can still watch it. I may re-upload it to a separate channel but I haven’t decided yet.
The reason I am doing this is complicated. I stand by what I said in the video and I still agree with it, but what I don’t agree with is my decision to structure it in the way it was, nor my behavior surrounding it.
As much as I am still annoyed at the Chieftain for wading into the argument and still semi-blame him for unintentionally blowing it all out of proportion, I have to admit he was right. I do need to be more professional when it comes to these things.
Withholding sources sounded great in my head at the time because I was still stuck in edge lord redditor mode, but that's not the standard I should be pushing for, or even representing, it was the dumb bitch move of a whiney asshole, and I can be better.
Look, I’m not going to beat around the bush here, I’m not going to cry for attention, I’m going to be super honest with you all.
I was drunk. I was insanely drunk when I was dealing with this drama.
And this was normal for me.
I have reasons for this, they are deeply personal and I won't get into them.
I know I have a reputation as "the wine-drunk historian", but sometimes this can be more than a joke and it’s not doing me any favors. So since that whole drama, I have been in therapy.
Sounds cringe I know, but I don’t care, it’s been a massive help to me.
I’m going out more, making more friends, drinking a hell of a lot less, and in general being a better person. I’ve also been streaming semi-regularly with a few of my friends which has been a major help.
Part of that healing process is, not trying to remove any trace of the past, but accepting the person I was back then and learning to move on.
Hence why I’ll be delisting that video, not because it's wrong, not because Red or Cone don’t deserve criticism, but because the way I went about delivering that critique was wrong.
I still feel this is an important discussion to have and I do aim to revisit the T-14 Armata in the future (because it is an absolute shit festival), go over some of the things I got wrong, the updates on the tank that have come out in recent months, and the absolute rabbit hole that is its engine.
And maybe we can have that discussion without the tankiees throwing their toys out of the pram.
It’s a learning process.
