Eyes Wide Open

Hello All, I hope that you’re enjoying the latest full length doc. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!

I know this one’s been highly anticipated: Coming this Christmas Wednesday, the last weekly upload of Season 2. One last gift under your virtual tree. This will be part 1 of 3, or my documentary series covering the early spy career of future President and CIA Director, George H.W. Bush.

Although weekly uploads will come to an end for now, there should still be a few surprises left in early 2025, so stay tuned for that. But otherwise, it’s been great sharing these videos with you all, and reading all the feedback in the comments. As I prepare my outlines for Season 3, I’m happy to say that it’s gonna be a hell of a ride. Can’t wait to get those out on Patreon soon in the new year.

But for now, time to learn about the Bush clan, later this week 👁️

Hello All, hope you’ve been enjoying the Operation 40 Video. Keeping the ball rolling, this Friday, I’ll be uploading my documentary covering the second half of the early CIA-Cuba show, that being the assassination program. The early CIA assassination program saw the integration of mob elements into the plots against Castro.

Much of this history is HIGHLY mythologized. So, I take up much of the video looking at the plausibility of this type of CIA-mob alliance, the nature of organized crime in America, and potential alternate explanations for the CIA’s seeming perpetual failure in killing Castro.

All that and much more this Friday! Coming up to the end of Season 2, not before I upload my Bush docs though. Those coming shortly afterwards, stay tuned 👁️

Hello All, hope you’ve been enjoying part 2 of the War Conspiracy. I’ve been asked if there will be a part 3 and the answer is yes… in due time. I hope to return to the War Conspiracy sometime in 2025 to explore Lyndon Johnson’s ties to the MIC. This will be a series that I will return to as we progress, to check into the ever expanding ties between the evolving political class and the military industrial sector.

As for this week, on Friday, I will be uploading my first video covering the CIA Cuba Show. Starting with Operation 40, I hope to begin to lay out the ongoing development of the CIA’s paramilitary capabilities in the early 60s on the Gulf Coast.

Op 40 was established to act as the future intelligence agency of a pro-Western post-Castro Cuba. In that sense, it was one of the CIA’s first forays into creating another country’s intelligence functions from scratch. They would of course become very proficient in this later down the line, especially in the Middle East.

Operation 40 oversaw the training of the most elite cadre of Cuban exiles, which would remain in the employ of the CIA and other allied Western Hemisphere intelligence agencies for the next decades to come. Many Op 40 agents would crop up in the CIA’s operations in SE Asia in the 60s and 70s, and Central America in the 1980s. Throughout this video, I go deep into the Cuba operations, breaking down the organizational structure and staff behind these covert actions.

I can’t wait to share this with you at the end of the week.

All the best,

Hello All, glad you’re enjoying the first part of the War Conspiracy Series. Getting to some of my most proud videos/research of the year now down the stretch…

This Friday, I will be premiering part 2 of the War Conspiracy, which acts as a bridge episode from Asia to Latin America. Many of the China Lobby figures we covered last time would reemerge in Latin America, first as key players in the CIA’s coup in Guatemala (PBSSUCCESS 1954) and then later in the invasion of Cuba (Bay of Pigs 1961). In this next part, I will begin by covering the coup in Guatemala and from there expand on the Rockefeller network and finally end up on the Gulf Coast, during the early years of the Cuban Revolution.

By looking at these intersecting interests, I want to illustrate the interconnectedness of the military industrial economy and the US intelligence elements that would come to increased prominence in the Caribbean milieu in the late 50s and early 60s. Some of my most deep research yet comes in this part, especially as is related to the Rockefellers. Can’t wait to share with you all then.

Again, thank you for the ongoing support as always.

Eyes Wide Open

Hello all, glad that you’re enjoying the fourth part of the Secret War in Laos series.

And now, for something completely different. Part one of the War Conspiracy, named after Peter Dale Scott’s 1972 classic (updated in 2013 as The War Conspiracy: JFK, 9/11, and the Deep Politics of War)

So far, my videos have been hyper focused on the narco angle of the ongoing post-WWII conflicts in South East Asia. As many of you have noted in the comments, the US interventions in South East Asia were motivated by many other factors beyond the narcotics complex. I couldn’t agree more, which is why we need to rewind, before 1964, before the war in Vietnam, and by proxy the War in Laos really ramped up.

One of the most prominent pressures pushing for escalation in Vietnam in the mid-60s was from the ever-expanding military industrial complex. In next week’s videos we will start at the beginning, in the immediate post-war years, looking at the crystallization of these interests and the impact of the very interlinked “China Lobby” on US foreign policy. I also introduce Howard Hughes for the first time on Eyes Wide Open - a character that I have become increasingly fascinated by throughout the past year. These War Conspiracy videos were very well received by Patreon supporters. I hope you will all enjoy too.

This is not the end of the Secret War in Laos Series. I had envisioned it as an eight part series, with the last four parts covering the Vietnam War Period to be completed in 2025. But before that, I have some backtracking to do, to give a more fulsome picture. I promise, these detours are worth it.

Thank you all for the continued support. Glad I can finally share these videos with you. I am especially looking forward to sharing my documentaries about Cuba in a few weeks.

Hello All, glad you’re all enjoying part 3 of the Secret War in Laos Series, live now on the channel.

Next Friday, I will be uploading part 4 of the series. This will be the last video focused on Laos for now, as we change gears in the weeks to come in building up towards the wider Vietnam War. Part 4 will be the longest video of Season 2, as I do a deep dive into the complex and tumultuous politics of the newly independent state of Laos post-1954. Within this history, we see the gradual integration of US advisors and security forces into the fledgling nation. Most notably, the CIA and early special forces programs were beginning to unfold in the small keystone state.

I hope you’re all looking forward to the new videos and what’s to come. After part 4 we’re taking a significant detour away from South East Asia back to the US, to begin to look at the institutional causes of the Vietnam War. This will be under my War Conspiracy series, focusing on the evolution of the Military Industrial Complex. Excited to share all that with you in a couple of weeks 👁️

Talk soon, take care

Glad you’re all enjoying the new video! Next Friday, finally getting back to the CIA.

Edward Lansdale was arguably the most influential American counterinsurgency theorist and operator. Having worked in the Philippines during WW2, South East Asia in the 1950s, Miami in the 1960s in the secret war against Castro, and finally returning to Vietnam in the early years of the US war there, Lansdale remained a constant throughout the US’ early special operations during the Cold War.

Next time, in part 3 of the Secret War in Laos Series, we will be looking at Edward Lansdale’s early career. From OSS to CIA in Saigon as President of South Vietnam Ngo Dinh Diem’s main American advisor.

Hope you all tune in 👁️
