…Beyer be thy name. Picked up one of these for peanuts on eBay, a @beyerdynamic #MCE86ii designed as a ENG shotgun mic, hypercardioid. It’s a tad noisy for distant studio pickup but once close in its really quite lovely, very usable as a podcast mic, proximity is warm not boomy.

Here we have the #3UAudio #Warbler127 SDC with the hypercardioid capsule, hoping to use this as an indoor boom mic for interviews. Very Schoeps-like styling, I also ordered the Cardioid-Flat capsule but the transformer coupling should add a little extra warmth and mojo.

…so it’s here! The @Electro_Voice #RE20 - I’ve put off forever picking one of these up, it’s been in studios since 1968, a true ‘broadcast heritage’ mic. And it’s beautiful …but strangely, much smaller in the hand than I expected it to be. 🎤❤️ 😜
