So, it ain’t an overnight success story or so but we got one of our HVAC client on the first page from literally nowhere for some major terms! (Yeah, the goal is to get it to the top position now because the other positions hardly get any leads but the point of this post is you can actually show wins pretty quick if you work on the stuff that works!
So when we started with them, they were hardly anywhere on Google for the prominent keywords.
When we onboarded with em’, they were a typical “client” tbh.
- Having few h2s with some random stuff - A lot of content
Though, they had one great thing which I ask a lot of my clients to do.
Be OMNIPRESENT and build a brand.
They weren’t only focused on a single channel, they knew if they needed to survive in this competition, they have to be everywhere, so there was pretty good brand established, I just had to leverage on it.
We went and optimised the basics of the Google Business Profile.
Done the stuff in photos & videos.
Optimized the homepage first and then the other money pages.
We were already on 3rd page with the basic efforts (the competition is pretty healthy)
Then, we got ONE link that got us to page one. That one link came from a freaking good site. (I’ll create a post on how to get such great links). Obviously I paid more than those generic 50 bucks a link GP.
We are getting another great link and I’ll update on the impact of that. P.S. In the meantime, GBPs are bringing leads already and we know that site will do the job too pretty soon!
P.P.S. We ain't done yet. Lots of potential is left for this one and we're working on getting the client to the very top!
Another Google Core Update but this one's a bit interesting. - Targets Parasite SEO (would be interesting to see how they actually deal with 'em) - Claiming to hit the expired domain power if "that domain is solely made to manipulate search engine rankings by using low-quality/non-helpful content, although the interesting part is, it mentioned, "For example, someone might purchase a domain previously used by a medical site and repurpose that to host low quality casino-related content, hoping to be successful in Search based on the domain's reputation from a previous ownership." Hence, working on similar niche expired domains is still a great idea. - They are also trynna hit the A.I. content and for local sites, it might mean mass pages. Will be interesting to see how it actually affects SERP.

🚀 Day 1/30 – Building a Local SEO SaaS in Public
Today, we kicked off development and made solid progress!
Here’s a quick breakdown of what we got done 👇
🛠 Backend Setup Complete:
Installed all required packages in VS Code
Set up a clean folder structure (controllers, routes, services, middlewares, validators)
Structured everything to keep the app scalable & easy to maintain
🔍 First Feature – Reviews API:
Users will be able to paste a Google Maps URL and instantly get:
✅ Business name
✅ Ratings & reviews
✅ GMB categories
This will be the base for fetching insights on their own business and top competitors (coming soon).
📊 Why this matters:
Business owners get real data on how they’re doing — and where they stand compared to competitors — with no tech skills required.
⚠️ Challenges:
We hit our API quota during testing 😅
Buying more credits + keys to fix it before tomorrow.
🎯 Next Up (Day 2):
Finish fetching more GMB data
Start work on auto-pulling competitor insights
Begin testing the full feature flow
💡 Launch goal: End of May!
🔔 Subscribe if you want to follow our daily build journey and learn how we're launching a real-world SEO SaaS from scratch.
