The Story Behind the Turgut Axe 🪓🔥
The “Turgut Axe” is inspired by the legendary warrior Turgut Alp, one of the most trusted companions of Osman I.
While there’s no exact historical record of a specific “Turgut axe,” warriors like Turgut Alp were known to use battle axes alongside swords—especially in close combat. These axes were powerful, durable, and capable of breaking shields and armor.
The design you often see today comes from a mix of:
Turkic warrior traditions
Ottoman military weapons
And modern interpretations influenced by shows like Diriliş: Ertuğrul
⚒️ Axes were often used as secondary weapons when swords broke or became ineffective
🛡️ Their weight allowed warriors to crush shields and armor, not just cut
🧠 Skilled fighters used axes for both attack and hooking enemy weapons
🔥 In many cultures, axes symbolized strength, courage, and raw power
