happy 1 year anniversary to where is your rider 🥳🎉
this video has gotten so much love over the past year and every time I see that it's made an impact i feel honored and humbled and happy all over again - every new comment, every mention on discord, every new reblog on tumblr with nice tags. the fact that WIYR left enough of a mark to continue to be thought about even months after the fact makes me so genuinely happy.
looking back i wish I'd been more consistent with character design (for martyn especially - I just kept FORGETTING stuff) and that i hadnt rushed the last few frames I ended up drawing; however, those are things that I kept to heart when I decided to draw Pale White Horse, and I think it came out better for it.
(did you know that the version of WIYR that appears in the PWH/WIYR combined video is a "remastered" version? i didn't change any of the art, just made some tweaks to the editing by going back to the original video project and changing some timings. the biggest areas impacted are the second half of the execution scene and the length of the flag animation! it's such small changes that I don't expect most people to catch them, but it gives me some peace of mind, I suppose.)
to everyone who got invested in the dogwarts POV because of WIYR, to the people happy to see a dogwarts animatic at all, to those who shared the video with friends, who got excited about it, who were inspired by the art to make something of their own, who used the art in their social media layouts, who made edits/gifs, who analyzed and discussed it, who said WIYR was your favorite third life video, who came to support the premiere of PWH/WIYR, and to everyone who watched and commented at all - thank you, thank you, thank you. i hope you'll keep supporting me 😊
