So today I had a conversation with my mother. She was asking me that since I'm 32 now do I still hold on to my belief that voting is useless. Firstly I laughed because she has remembered a conversation we had when I was about to turn 18 in 2011.
I told her that I still stand with my decision of never doing that. To me voting is an idiotic concept in its current form and it needs an evolution. If it remains mainly a popularity contest then the answer is yes I will not vote. If voting was such a great concept why is it not used in the greatest companies in the world.
People at Apple do not vote for who will be the new CEO. Could you imagine how that would even go about? Imagine if the lady who manages the canteen or the janitor who mops the floors were to be voted in to do the job? Screw competency right? Whoever is popular with people here will run the company.
They do not do that because it is an idiotic concept and yet we in the world sit down with unqualified politicians in our midst given the reigns to run a country with no proof that they can even run a massive entity like an trans national company.
We then put in people who initially lie to us to get our votes and then we are shocked when they do not keep their end of the deal. We need a change, that's all.
