I’m Gary, a guitarist and producer making high quality backing tracks that inspire you to get creative with your guitar playing. As a guitarist having spent years and hundreds of hours practicing to jam tracks I know the importance they bring when it comes to improving your improvisational techniques! The tracks I create are in different keys, tempos, time signatures, and genres to give you a wide range of playing styles with my main focus on blues, ballads, pop and rock. I compose, record, produce, and mix my tracks and provide example guitar solo ideas for further inspiration and learning material.

What’s your opinion on new technology in guitar gear, like built in speakers in guitars, pedals that make you use apps on your phone, light up fretboard, etc?

Which is your LEAST favourite key to play in? Gotta be C# / Db Major for me! Some keys just don’t work as well on the guitar.

Have you checked out my new backing track? This one is brilliant for slow emotional, melodic blues playing. Try this one out, and it is in A Minor too, a good key! ;) enjoy!

A new extended solo on one of my recent backing tracks Sad Emotions Rock Ballad. Check it out on my secondary channel @GPGuitarist. This is an awesome track for emotional playing and combining some slower lines with faster playing! Enjoy this one! Cheers.

Please use backing tracks from REAL MUSICIANS. The amount of channels on here that use AI to create backing tracks (and admit it in their channels) is ridiculous. This is disruptive to real musicians for many reasons and we need you to watch videos from the channels that actually put in the effort to create music with their talent and skill.
Putting in a 'prompt' to create a backing track in minutes cannot be compared at all to a musician recording the parts, writing the chord progression, editing the videos, mixing and mastering the tracks, and more. Plus the years put in to learn the instruments.
I know of some good quality and professional channels on here that write their own music and are great players. Play along to us, our channels that write authentic music. Some of the AI channels are easier to recognise because the sound quality is poor, visuals are obvious, and the descriptions/channels even mention they use it to create their tracks.
Why this is an issue;
1) Too many fake channels saturate the searches and proper musicians' channels can get unnoticed.
2) These AI channels cold monetise their videos and receive money for something created by a computer. Fair? No.
3) Some well established real musicians' channels receive lower views (and therefore less income) to help fund their work as a musician.
4) The AI music has used real music to learn from and real musicians aren't compensated for that in any way.
5) We need to keep the guitar community going by watching videos from proper musicians and real people.
So many more points to discuss, but I won't go on yet! Too many AI channels are being made so I wanted to write this and ask you to please watch videos from real people who make real music. Do you agree? Write in the comments! Thank you. Gary.

You might have seen I recently released the backing track for ‘Love Thing’ by Joe Satriani, and I recorded a cover version on my channel @GPGuitarist. I have been listening to Joe Satriani recently and revisiting some of my favourite songs from him. He was probably my biggest guitarist inspiration when I was younger and I spent so long learning his songs. Now I am finding the joy of his music once again. More covers on my secondary channel are likely! Enjoy this one! Thanks.
