I will keep the videos up on the channel for as long as I can for you guys. I know people enjoy watching them and I won’t permanently take them down unless I’m forced to.

It's the first DLL community post of 2020!


UPDATE:
So as some of you are aware, the rules relating to COPPA are now enforced by YouTube as of Jan 7th. I've been keeping an eye out on how it affects my content and other channels. And what I've determined is that like demonization, it's inconsistent if you spend enough time looking hard enough.


Thankfully, my privated videos didn't seem to be affected by the changes. I know other channels aren't as fortunate.
So as an award for everyone who's still subscribed to me (Thank you guys so much for your patience), I've republished 30 of my old videos, which you can find on my channel as of today. If in the following week there are no issues, I'll republish the rest of my old videos.


I will keep my videos up for as long as possible for you guys.

UPDATE:
An update with the whole FTC & privating my videos.

The FTC has given an update about how COPPA applies YouTuber's content. While it's not perfect, to me at least, something that is for a general audience is okay and doesn't violate COPPA, like gaming. I would say that the majority of gaming and entertainment content is for general audiences.

I'm not as concerned about the FTC because if we're being honest, they'd only come after you if you become a problem.

I can't say the same for YouTube's poor skills at handling the situation and the potential bots that would say my content is for kids when for the most part, it's really for a general audience.

Like think about it, as an example, Marvel movies are movies that can be enjoyed by anyone.

Of course, a bot probably won't understand that, which is why those types of videos are still private just until we can how bad YouTube handles the situation. If things seem okay, I'll republish the videos in February 2020.

Again, I appreciate those who are patient with me in this situation.
And to those who unsubscribed, I understand and hope you have a good day.

UPDATE:
So some of you may have noticed that I have the majority of my videos are now private.

I did this as an extreme precaution to the new rules from YouTube that is being enforced by the FTC. Now I want to make it clear that my videos are NOT MADE FOR KIDS. A younger audience was never and will never be my intended audience. A lot of the music videos I edited were from films mostly rated PG-13, which is one reason why I marked them not for kids.

However, given YouTube's past about using bots to police content, I do think that a bot may still mark a lot of my videos as made for kids because let's say, they focus on superheroes, which appeals to kids. Again, MY CONTENT IS NOT INTENDED FOR KIDS OR A YOUNG AUDIENCE. Even so, I can’t deny that there are kids out there who watch my videos and that could be enough for YouTube to say otherwise.

Hey FTC, you need to make it clear of what counts as “kid directed” vs “kid attractive” content. There is a difference and it should be made clear if you’re going to come after creators directly.

Personally, I think the worst that could happen is YouTube takes down my video, but I also don't want to risk getting fined a stupid amount of money for a video that was always made for fun. I'm a college student, I ain't got that kind of money.

I'm sorry if you are sad or upset that I'm privating those videos until further notice.
Please understand that I don't know how bad these new rules could get and I'm treating this situation as a worst-case scenario.

UPDATE THREAD
Hey everyone. I just wanted to give some updates on current video projects and what’s been happening behind the scenes.


1. If you haven't seen the Satire Recap of RWBY Pt 1, here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3rFq....
A Satire Recap of RWBY Pt 2 has been delayed because I still need my friend to re-record certain lines. Once that is done, I should be able to finish editing the video within a week. I do have another round of exams in a few weeks, so it’s possible that the video will be delayed until Thanksgiving break. I do also want to thank those who supported part 1.
My film/video essay channel is relatively new, so it means a lot when 40+ people watched and supported it. If you want the Satire Recap to be a full series, feel free to leave suggestions for more.


2. It is not confirmed as of this moment, but I may stream Pokemon Shield during Thanksgiving break. I originally planned on doing a blind versus series during the break, but my friend is out of town, so that series is pushed back to December/ early 2020.


3. As I’ve said before, I will be going on hiatus from the DragonLordLeda channel starting in 2020. I say hiatus because if I said "I’m retiring this channel", that would imply I’m never making any more AMVs/MVs type videos. I probably will still make occasional MVs/AMVs because I still enjoy it, but I won’t be able to do so on a consistent basis without feeling burnt out or lowering quality. Plus I want to learn advanced editing techniques and need time to do so.


4. For those who didn’t know, my friend and I do have a gaming channel now, Just More Gamers. We didn’t make an occasional announcement because until now, we didn’t many videos for you to watch. We currently have 38 videos out as of this tweet, including our Fire Emblem Three Houses series. We do have plans for future content, so we appreciate it if you check us out and subscribe if you like what you see.
