Multiple shrews disguised as a deranged human artist..... scratch that first part. Hello! I am HayWire Chupacabra [A Chupacabra is a folk-tale monster]. My channel name is hard to remember, but that's okay, because my only hope is to expand and develop in proper animating skills.

I usually tackle real-life problems in my animations, like financial struggles, lawsuits, and disabilities, while mixing them with subjects of surrealism like monsters or humanoid bug creatures.

Nowadays I usually animate my own characters and stories. Animations involving other fandoms will be meager and highly unlikely.
Due to the recent retirement of my fingernails, replies will be forwarded to my homunculus creature.

[16+] This channel consists of mature subject matter, such as violence and gore, profanity, and substance use, as well as some sensitive topics, namely suicide and abuse. Please be aware that many videos also have flashing lights!
I would recommend reading video warnings before watching.

HayWire Chupacabra

I've rewritten HayWire's backstory numerous times in the past year or so, and I'm happy with it at the moment. It follows a proper timeline, thankfully. This self-proclaimed murderer is now a businessman/gangster/smuggler! Or he was, until he went... haywire [pause for laughter].
Anywho, you can see the mumbo jumbo long ass story VIA his ArtFight profile, if you're curious [for some reason]. artfight.net/character/1357047.haywire
To go along with the rewriting, I've made a new reference sheet for the character. But it looks ghastly and ugly, so I'm not posting it here. Someday I'll do it again, when I relearn how to draw him. For now, you get slopwire.

Oh, the next slide? Thanks for asking. That's my card for this year's annual ArtFight event... have I mentioned it? And those little fellas at the bottom are all my new characters that I made in class this year.

To round things up, here's HayWire with his fancy new office space attire! Is it based on the movie Office Space? Yes. Hope you guys dig!
Also, I'm in the process of redesigning all the characters in the HayWire lunatic asylum universe... BUT THEY'RE NOT DONE, so don't poke 'em too hard! Watch your step, and happy ArtFight! :-)

A bit of linework practice, studying line weight and how it can affect the lead eye. Also to see if the character designs are recognizable, or if they just look like scribbles?
If anyone has any criticism in terms of linework, clarity, construction, or anything of the sorts, I'd be happy to learn. I was practicing some textures on Photoshop for this.
Other than that, here's some more of the gay soldiers, Rosemunde [with the chicken head stick] and Mundy [who is very cold]!
Have a good evening every1.

Putting my characters in Saw traps: Part FIVE!

Okay, I lied in my last post, and spun out this drawing in, like, three or four hours last night [probably because I made the background really simple, and didn't draw the entire character's body]. I had been flipping through my night-class homework and found a doodle on the bottom of the page of my character, Farfalle, in the Venus Fly Trap from the second Saw movie [see on third slide]. It was a surprisingly almost-accurate drawing of the trap, despite it being from memory at the time. I definitely miscalculate the hair-to-trap ratio in the digital version... now if Farfalle dies in this trap he's gonna look really dumb.
The Venus Fly Trap scene is a really interesting one to watch. Definitely makes you jump. Would recommend if you're looking for some unsettling eye imagery! While the scene itself is- not unlike all the Saw trap scenes- very green in atmosphere, I found an edited shot off Google that made it look a lot more blue, and used that for reference [see on second slide, it's not mine].

Have I ever introduced this character to you guys? His name is Chef Farfalle. If you've visited my DeviantArt account recently, you'd know that I draw him a lot. Moreso than any other character. Long story short, he's basically my main lad now. Though he probably deserves to be put in a Saw trap. Not to die!! Just to freak him out a little. Ooohh, I haven't dumped Farfalle lore around yet... but let's put it simply as an evil chef!! The bands around his arms and scars on his hands are not part of the Saw aesthetic, but rather part of his actual design! Do NOT let this little man into kitchens!!

Anywho. I'm back on my drawing grind. Huzzah. As always, this is NOT canonical to the story of my characters, and is only for fun! Farfalle is safe and sound, though he should probably be in jail. I am obsessed with both the Saw franchise, and with drawing this character, so the combination of the both has fueled me. Any other Saw fans out there?

Part four of putting my characters into SAW traps!!

Yep, I'm still addicted to this movie. But this might be my last one for a little bit, just because I haven't had as much time to watch the franchise as I usually do. But once I keep watching, I'll probably get more ideas. I've got a dozen sketches already, but they're all mediocre; had a fully coloured drawing of the Saw bathroom, too, but I've decided it looks nasty. At least for now.
Instead, here's another trap centered from the first Saw movie!! The classic, of course, original reverse bear trap! The most iconic scene of the series! For this I've used my spy duo, Caroline and Wayne, who are both entirely innocent and would not deserve this in a canonical setting. But, as always, this was just for fun. The writing on the wall is the line from Amanda's Trap in the first movie, which you can peep the heavy referencing I took from it in the second slide there. For the record, in this scene, Amanda has to retrieve a key from a paralyzed body in order to remove the reverse bear trap. Pleasant, right? The amount of research I put into this specific scene is uncanny, yet the drawing came out kinda yucky. Whatever, this was fun, I love the poses in the shots from the film. Great for some quick silly construction practice, which I really need to work on.

Not a whole lot to say about this for the moment. But just from writing about Saw, I'm conjuring up more ideas. Maybe I'm not done yet. We'll see.
As always, this is not canonical for my characters, and would truly never happen. Sorry, Caroline. And Wayne, I suppose. Hey, at least I didn't draw Caroline digging through Wayne's intestinal track to find the key, right? That's what happens in the movie, at least!
Anywho, enjoy the sickly green atmosphere of this dookie. I love Saw.
Thanks for bear[trap]-ing with me!

UGLY!!! PROCEED TO GAZE WITH CAUTION!!

Hello. Happy Valentine's Day. Woo hoo, another holiday.
We were prompted to design a scene for Valentine's Day in class, which was supposed to take about an hour to draw, though I definitely took longer than expected. I wanted to draw the soldiers [Rosemunde and Mundy], since they're my little happy fellas. But this drawing actually sucks booty, like it looks so bad. Absolutely rancid. I do not like it, and I haven't even handed it in yet, but whatever, it follows the assignment outline. It's supposed to be Rosemunde gifting Mundy a snowglobe that he stole from another fortress. Mundy looks sad about it, but he's not, he's just surprised. Flattered, even. Rosemunde looks pissed; he doesn't like being nice, especially to Mundy. But he's gonna bug Mundy while he's working anyways.
This was actually my assignment from last week. Today, we got to draw Caillou being brutally dismembered in class. I think that is fitting for the holidays. I also got to do a decently large presentation in college today, and everyone loved it, so that was really fun.
Anywho, I'd like to do a better piece of these two later-on. Maybe they can, like, set off an explosion together or something, I dunno. But this is what I have for now. Also, I do have more Saw drawings in the works !! I just haven't had time to work on them. I am very busy drawing Caillou dying. That bald freak will feel my wrath.

Have a good day everyone. Love you. Not you, move out of my way. You, the one in the back.

Putting my precious characters into Saw traps: Part three!! It is also my channel's anniversary today, started five years ago. Woop woop! Not that I've done much with it, but still, here we are, having a fun time.

Today I have for you the Ice Block Trap from the movie Saw 4, featuring Muggs as the victim, Plauggy as the forced apprentice / previous survivor, and Warren as the faker ! The scene was heavily referenced from a specific image in the film [which is on the second slide there], simply because I really liked the perspective in it.
I was chatting with someone about possible Saw traps for characters, and they pointed out that the character Warren would probably fake being in a Saw trap just to be closer to Muggs, and eliminate Plauggy, so this trap came to mind! It is prominent throughout the 4th movie, but has an interesting twist at the end, that took me a while to fully comprehend. If you've seen it, you know that things don't end well for Muggs there. Muggs isn't looking too good right now. In fact, he genuinely becomes more ugly every time I draw him.
I was working on a drawing of Plauggy and Muggs in the bathroom trap from the first Saw movie, but I put it on pause to do this one instead. I'll go back to it, though. These poor fools will never catch a break.

Anyways, this was some delightful perspective practice! Could have done better, but whatever, I like it better when it's disproportional. The background wasn't too rough, either, since it's just a warehouse. As always, this is NOT canonical to the stories of the separate characters, they're probably all sitting around staring awkwardly at eachother right now, entirely ALIVE. Warren is crazy, but not crazy enough to construct a death trap from a horror movie franchise! His love for Muggs is not that deep guys, chill. He just writes bad poetry.

Once again, thanks for reading! Have a good evening everyone! Don't get kidnapped by Jigsaw!

Censored this ahead of time for the sake of those who might not be fond of Saw traps.

Welcome back to part two of submerging my own characters into the horrific world of the Saw movie franchise! Today I have for you Koroner and Addison in the Spike trap from Saw 4, otherwise referred to as the "Cupid's Arrows", though in this case, there's nothing delightful about it.
In the movie, the characters in this trap are meant to distance from each other's abusive tendencies [as in one of them must die]. The phrase used was, "remove the ties that bind, or bleed to death from your inactivity." Addison and Koroner are two very angry and violent siblings, so I thought this worked well, as it was a very interesting way to handle the crime in the movie. I was originally going to draw Addison in his own trap, which would have been the 'Pig Vat' from Saw 3, but frankly that scene was a bit nasty, too gross to destroy Addison's wonderful suit with, so I'm sticking to the spikes. You can see the image I used for reference on the third slide there!
The height difference was troublesome, so I had to improvise by removing a few of the binds in the trap. I definitely could have done better designing the trap in my own style, but whatever. All fun and games!

Just as the last, this is NOT a canonical installment of the story of these characters! I could never kill Addison, despite how mean he is. I wouldn't wish this harm to either of them, but the parasite in my head requested this drawing, and I must oblige. But Addison and Koroner are safe at home with their brother, Florence, who also did not die to a Saw trap.

Thanks for reading yet another film rant! I've got more of these coming soon. ;-)
