“they still see the old you"

Lessons we can learn from the last scene in today's episode of Abattoir season 6

That last scene with #Rambo oh! Soree #PastorPaulIsrael remind me of one thing many believers pass through but no dey talk about.

Sometimes the hardest people to convince say you have changed, no be strangers…

Na people wey know your old version.
The ones wey know your old gist. The ones wey remember your old habits. The ones wey still keep screenshots of your Egypt.

You don give your life to God. You don cry. You don repent. God don forgive. Grace don begin work.

But people?

People still dey call your old name.

You say: “I no dey do that again.”
Dem go say: “Abeg rest, na you?”

You preach… Dem laugh.
You change… Dem suspect.
You testify… Dem whisper.

Because to them, your history loud pass your transformation.

But make we tell ourselves truth…
People naturally judge from memory.

God judges from redemption.

People say: “We know who you were.”
God says: “I know who you are becoming.”

Na why some people dey uncomfortable around transformed people.
Because your change reminds them say God fit rewrite anybody’s story.

And this one sweet me:
People fit remember your sin… but heaven records your repentance.

No be every person wey dey remind you of your past get access to your present with God.

Imagine person dey pursue butterfly because e remember when e still be caterpillar.

Imagine person dey look for Saul while God already call Paul.

Some people still dey argue with version 1.0 of you while grace don release update 6.0

No vex.
No fight.
No go back to prove anything.

Because one dangerous mistake be to return to old behavior just to satisfy people’s expectations.

If God has forgiven you, walk like forgiven person.

If grace has changed you, live like transformed person.

Your testimony no be that you never had a past. Your testimony be say your past no longer has authority.

And one day, the same people wey say: “Na lie, she cannot change…” "He cannot change...?
go begin ask: “Wait… wetin God really do?”

That day, no brag.

Just smile and say:

“Na grace. If God show me mercy, He fit show anybody.”

Make I ask you this question ❓

Have people ever treated you based on your past even after God changed your life ❓

It's Good Friday❣️❣️

I have taken time to reflect deeply on how many people celebrate Easter. Some uses decorative eggs as symbols, and its meaning as new birth which is paganism from its name.

Although At first, I was concerned about the origins, the associations, and the many representations eggs, rabbits, and flowers that seem far from the suffering of Christ.

But as I prayed and studied, so I decided to share with you the power of this season and not in the name itself.

The power is in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Whether it is called Easter/Paschal or Passover, what truly matters is this,
the death, the suffering, and the gift of salvation given freely to us.

However, this is where my conviction stands:

If we are going to represent this sacred moment, let it reflect the truth of what happened.

Because the death of Christ was not decorative.
It was not colorful.
It was not comfortable.

It was brutal!
It was painful!
It was sacrificial!

The Cross was not a symbol of beauty it was a symbol of suffering.

The crown of thorns was not an ornament it was a mark of humiliation and pain.

So if we cannot boldly lift the Cross…
If we cannot speak of the blood…
If we cannot acknowledge the suffering…

Then we must be careful not to replace that depth with symbols (Eggs, Rabbits, Hare, Basket/Hats) that do not carry the weight of that sacrifice.

Please note! My concern is about alignment. Because this is our faith and our hope.

That in a world full of distractions, we will not lose the message of the Cross.
That in the midst of celebration, we will not forget the suffering.
That in all our expressions, Christ will remain at the center.

Let the CROSS be our focus.
Let the SACRIFICE be our message.
Let the LOVE OF CHRIST be our testimony.
Because at the end of it all, it is not the symbol that saves. IT IS JESUS!

This season, I declare:
You will not be a casual observer of the Cross.
You will encounter its power.
You will experience transformation.
And your life will become a living testimony of what Jesus paid for.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🌹🌹Mothers are not ordinary vessels:

They are carriers of destiny. God places a special grace upon mothers to nurture, protect, and shape generations. Through their prayers, homes are preserved. Through their sacrifices, destinies are established.

Every mother carries a prophetic assignment. Your voice speaks into the future of your children. Your prayers fight battles your children may never see.

Many a times, when a mother kneels, heaven rises to defend her household.

I prophetically declare over you 🔥🔥

Every mother whose heart is heavy because of her children, may the Lord strengthen you.

May God reward every hidden sacrifice, every silent tear, and every midnight prayers you have ever prayed.

Your children will not be wasted.
They will rise in honor, wisdom, and greatness.

The seeds of love, discipline, and faith you have planted will produce a harvest of joy.

May the Lord surround you mother with grace, divine help, and peace. May your home be filled with laughter, and may your children call you blessed.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
