Free Advice Guy is done...for 2025!
Full transparency: we feel that we may be in algorithm jail. Over the past year we have tried different ideas (clips from stream, gaming, IRL content, etc.) and have come to learn that @YouTube doesn't like it when you switch things up. It makes it difficult for them to know who to push your video to. After watching multiple videos about resetting a channel, we have decided to do it.
Two weeks off will allow us to start from scratch. During this time we will optimize our channel description, tags, find out why certain content did well and others didn't, and more.
During these two weeks I will still be active on Patreon and have community live chats/streams.
We appreciate you all more than you know. Together, we will help millions of people master their finances.

Free Advice Guy
One year complete for Free Advice Guy! This is the story of our first year. Free Advice Guy launched August 1st of 2024 with the goal of helping millions of people achieve financial literacy.
If I'm being honest, we didn't truly have a plan when we started. I was live streaming and we were creating clips that were full of information, but something was missing. I wasn't creating any long-form content.
In February of this year things began to change. I met Richard Beach who could film, produce, and edit my dreams into reality. On Valentine's Day, we shot our first IRL (in real life) video on the streets of Mill Avenue in Tempe Arizona. I was walking up to people asking if they wanted free flowers or free financial advice. The shoot and video ended up better than I imagined. I got to help people where they were and help their financial futures through some random chance encounter. What a blessed life.
After we shot the Mill Avenue video, Richard suggested that we put out a new long-form video every week. Starting June 6th, we began executing that plan. We shot additional videos at the Fairytale Finds Market in Peoria and Old Town Scottsdale. Each shoot has had unique people, circumstances, and questions.
Before we executed our plan (10+ months), our YouTube channel had 154k views, 305 subscriptions, and 1000 hours of watch time. Since we began our plan on June 6th (9 weeks), we have an additional 110k views, 96 subscriptions, 600 hours of watch time. Totals of 264k views, 401 subscriptions, and 1600 hours of watch time. Our plan is helping us reach more people, faster. There is research that says YouTube wants to see, approximately, 20 long-form videos before you end up being pushed by their algorithm. No matter what, we will continue to put out a new video every Friday.
So far, my wife and I are satisfied with what we have done in our first year. We made many mistakes. We grew and flexed a tremendous amount. If this is what the first year was like, I can't wait to see what the future has in store.
