This is our bipolar disorder. Our experiences. Our bipolar community. Here at Our Bipolar, we redefine bipolar disorder through personal stories and community.

Welcome in! I’m Jess Curtis, wife, mom, editor, and bipolar advocate.

I’ve had 26 years of experiences living with bipolar: mania, depression, hypomania, mixed episodes, and yes, stability (the holy grail!). I try to talk about all of it to give a fuller picture of life with bipolar.

This channel strives to break stigma, offer support, and promote better understanding of bipolar disorder.

Our Bipolar

Mine: Diagnosis of #bipolar 1 in September 1999

I was too sedated on tranquilizers to remember being given the diagnosis.

19 years old, traumatized by my first manic episode with psychosis, and unprepared for a completely different life.

How about you?

Our Bipolar

Communication is key when loving someone with #bipolar. That’s the tl;dr here. 💁🏻‍♀️

Bryan and I have been together for 17 years. No one has a perfect relationship, including us.

In our marriage, dealing with my bipolar is like dealing with his spinal issues. Really. For another couple, it might be a heart problem, autoimmune disease, anything.

All of these issues need communication and understanding and love. And the partner with the issue needs to be willing to take care of their health as best they can. ❤️

Our Bipolar

With everything going on in our chaotic world, I found some peace in this talk.

Lee and I discuss the ICE protests thoughtfully, with you and your possible triggers in mind. Use the timestamps to skip around if needed.

Watch if you’re able to. It might help you too. 💚
