We're experimenting with expanding the "The story of..." series by diving into individual careers, starting off with the exceptional career trajectory of Jonas Vingegaard. If you like this direction, please let us know, then we can dive even deeper into these stories!
The Giro d'Italia is almost upon us, so we dived deep into its history. A race designed to sell newspapers and bring a fractured nation together - so obviously it has had some of the most dramatic sequences of events in all of cycling.
The story of the Giro d'Italia is now out!
What's your favourite story arc across the Giro's long history? I'll start with Simon Yates' redemption arc.
What a day! First off, we got to see exactly what Paul Seixas can already do at 19 year old against the best in the world. Can't do anything else than be in awe. This guy's 19!
Second point, our "The story of Liège-Bastogne-Liège" video became our most watched video ever, within 24 hours of it coming out. We want to thank you all again for the support you've shown for this series. I'm happy to say we'll continue with new episodes!
The story of Paris-Roubaix went out much later than we wanted, but the race itself delivered in all of the ways that make it epic, and the Hell of the North.
Want to know when it picked up that nickname? And why this means so much for Wout van Aert? Make sure you still check out the video!
Thank you all for all of the support on this series! The next one will be the story of Liege-Bastogne-Liege, La Doyenne. Prepare to hear me butcher a lot of French again!
Again blown away by all the positive comments on the latest "The Story of" video... You're all amazing! Releasing the video about De Ronde came close to never happening or launching after the start of the race. I hope to get the next one done much sooner, leaving you more time to watch it before the start of the race.
Next up on the Domestique Hotseat, we have World Champion Magdeleine Vallieres! It's been an incredible privilege to talk to a reigning World Champion. Thank you to Magdeleine and EF Education - Oatly for making this happen.
Next week, we talk to a WorldTour team manager for over an hour!
No regular Domestique Cycling Podcast this week, but instead 2 episodes of the Domestique Hotseat! First, we have Rasmus Pedersen, and then Aidan will talk to Matteo Jorgenson and Victor Campenaerts! Which questions would you like to ask the Visma vloggers?
We released a video version of one of our analysis articles covering why Tadej Pogacar's win at the World Championships was inevitable. Would you like us to produce videos like this more often?
