6.3A Starter Characters Only: Final Update

I managed to get the 12-1-2 footage with 9 seconds to spare (529 battles across all accounts).

I was focusing too much on canceling every Exile Sacrifice, when it’s actually fine to let it happen as long as Sigurd’s Max HP isn’t too high. I borrowed @johannism69’s account for the 12-1-2 run but kept all 5-star weapons at R1 this time.

I estimate the video will be out in at least 24 hours.

6.3A Starter Characters Only: Update 1

I have footage for 12-2 and 12-3, along with a 1:06 clear for 12-1-1.

Despite the fast 12-1-1 clear, I’m struggling to pass the DPS check in 12-1-2, which is made worse by Lisa’s Burst often targeting the Wilderness Exiles instead of Sigurd.

I’m trying to find a consistent strategy that keeps only Sigurd within range of Lisa’s Burst. If I can do that, I may have enough DPS to trigger Grief-Stricken so he never gets a chance to complete Exile Sacrifice.

Fortunately, I’ve completed all permanent 6.3 content on both accounts, so I have time to grind 12-1-2. At this point, it comes down to whether I can pull it off.

6.2 Starter Characters Only Update

I’ve had to take this version slowly due to being busy during and after winter break, along with needing a breather after doing 1,735 battles for the 6.1 Spiral Abyss.

I have footage for all three chambers, but I’m still working on 12-1, where the current cost is 28 (down from 35). Given my limited time, I may need to post the video with a 28-cost 12-1 run if I can’t lower it further in the next few days.

6.1 Starter Characters Only Run: Final Update

Total battles across all accounts: 1,735.

I now have all the footage for the 6.1 Starter Characters Only video since I cleared 12-3-1 in 1:31 using a normal account. Here are my current clear times:

12-1: 1:17 | 1:33
12-2: 1:45 | 1:14
12-3: 1:31 | 1:28

My main account was the only one that rolled CRIT, CRIT, and 40% ATK for 12-3-1. Getting the final card in that combo made a much bigger difference than I expected against the Wilderness Hunter. I also reviewed a lot of footage and found several spots where I could shave off small amounts of time.

The spliced footage doesn’t have perfectly matching timers, but I’m too exhausted to fix that and the company holiday is over. Frame-by-frame, each chamber is still under 3 minutes. I also need to start practicing for the 6.2 Spiral Abyss enemy lineup, since it looks concerning.

I’ll hopefully have the video out by the end of tomorrow or the morning of the next day.

6.1 Starter Characters Only Run: Update 3

I’m now over 1,000 battles into the 6.1 Spiral Abyss, and I technically have viable footage for 12-3. The issue is that the footage for 12-3-1 was recorded on a whale friend’s account (the third account I’ve been rerolling cards on).

This account has R4 Kagura's Verity, R5 Aqua Simulacra, and R5 Elegy for the End. I tried to avoid using this account for as long as possible, but I may have to rely on it for the Wilderness Hunters. Without it, my best clear time for 12-3-1 was 1:37.

I’ll still try to get a viable clear on a non-whale account, but if that doesn’t work out, I’ll use the whale account footage for the 6.1 Starter Characters Only video.

6.1 Starter Characters Only Run: Update 2

I have the footage for 12-1 and 12-2, but 12-3 is still a major issue. For a 3-star run to even be possible, I need two CRIT cards and the 40% or 60% ATK card, so I’ll continue rerolling cards on three accounts.

Right now, I can only deal about 50% of the Primo Geovishap’s HP without reflect damage from Primordial Showers before time runs out. I also don’t reach the Primo Geovishap with enough time left for two Primordial Showers to trigger, so I likely need a much faster 12-3-1 clear to make this possible.

Here are my current clear times:

6.1 Starter Characters Only Run: Update 1

In test attempts, my best clear time for 12-3-1 is 1:39, which might not leave enough time for the second half. I’m not sure if I’m playing Lisa and Fischl incorrectly in a Quicken team (no Sucrose because the 6.2 selector only allows one character), but I’m finding it difficult to push that time any lower.

To make a run possible, I likely need to reflect two Primordial Showers. This requires letting the Primo Geovishap apply Cryo, then taking a Geo hit to spawn a Cryo Crystallize shard, and keeping that shield alive until Primordial Shower. This is hard because one of the boss’s attacks seems unavoidable even with dash i-frames. I also can’t use Noelle, since she lowers team DPS too much. The strategy depends on a specific attack sequence that triggers two Primordial Showers within 52 seconds (as in the 5.2 Spiral Abyss video).

Right now, I’m rerolling cards on three accounts to try to get two CRIT cards and the 40% ATK card. I can’t use the 60% ATK card because Fischl’s C4 often heals her above 50% HP. As always, I’ll try my best to find a solution to the Wild Hunt DPS check so I don’t have to keep canceling videos due to this enemy type.

6.0B Spiral Abyss Video Cancelled

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a solution to the Wilderness Hunters in the 6.0B Spiral Abyss using the current starter characters. This also means it may no longer be possible for me to release a Starter Characters Only video every version.

I’ve been looking into teams with Fischl, since the “Witch’s Homework: Invite Characters” leak is still on HomDGCat’s website. So far, I’ve only found one Fischl team that only slightly raises the starter characters’ DPS ceiling, assuming I’m playing her correctly.

Although uncertain, I’ll still try to find a solution for the Wilderness Hunters in 12-3-1 of the 6.1 Spiral Abyss. As usual, I’ll run the Spiral Abyss on other accounts on the second channel first to understand the enemy lineup, then attempt a run using the starter characters.
