Been a few months since I promoted my second channel on here

Re: My new Nintendo Switch 2 video

A couple days have passed, and if anything has been made clear, it’s this: some of my bits and opinions completely misread the room.

Regarding the opening with drinking ice soup: It was just a bit I saw online and wanted to do based on how expensive the console and its games are. Obviously with part of my job being to buy new games and consoles for content, I was planning to cover the Switch 2 launch regardless, but I never intended to make light of how costly everything is. That, as well as any other related lines in the video were meant in good humor. 

We all know that the Switch 2 console price and subsequent game prices suck. I know what it’s like to be in a position where you struggle to pay for things or afford things you want as I didn't come from money growing up. I know especially right now, a lot of people are struggling and I’m in a fortunate place where I have access to these games to review and talk about them. I’m hopeful for a near future where people don’t feel like they’re being priced out of their hobbies or just simply Nintendo games in general. Games are meant to be enjoyed and for that, they need to be accessible. I didn’t convey that well in the video, and for that, I apologize.

Second, to address my general positivity for the Switch 2 and not acknowledging blatant issues with Nintendo as a company, aka, being a Nintendo shill. Things like game key cards, general greediness with things like Welcome Tour’s pricing, issues with Mario Kart World’s online, Switch 2’s being bricked by playing certain used Switch 1 games (which I wasn’t even aware of until after the video went out) and yea, it’s all bad, and I always want the company to be better. My video was meant to share my personal experience during the Switch 2’s launch window, which was generally positive! And I’m excited for the future! At the end of the day, I want my favorite franchises to succeed and I want to feel comfortable being critical of things that need change. 

I never want to lie or fake emotions for the sake of a video. That’s not me. And if that disappointed you in that video, and you “expected better of me” well I apologize for that too. I don’t take it all back, but I’m sorry I didn’t give you the message you expected.

All in all, certain aspects of the video could have been conveyed better. All I want to do is share gaming opinions and hopefully entertain you in the process. I got a couple other Switch 2 videos planned, as well as more ROM Hack spotlights and Retrospectives, and as always, I appreciate your support and your time. I’m just a guy who plays games for a living and I’m thankful every day that I get to do this and have people like you who enjoy what I do.

In 2025, there's been 4 AntDude episodes so far! What have you thought of the general output at this point?

I've gotten some confusion regarding the titling of things like "Sonic Revisionist History" and "Ranking EVERY Nintendo Switch Game" but ultimately, everything is an attempt something a little bit different while just talking about video games I really enjoy and/or find interesting. I especially enjoyed the Nintendo Labo video. That was a video I was cooking up for well over a year honestly.

I hope you're excited for the future, cause there's no stopping anytime soon! Got one video on a very notable Mario mod going out this month before the big Switch 2 launch boom in June! The general launch lineup, Mario Kart World, eventually Donkey Kong Bananza, I got a lot I'm excited to work on while also sprinkling in a little random retrospective here and there to spice things up. And that's not even covering AntDude Plus!
