My name is Kai Kostack, I'm 3D generalist from Berlin specialized in destruction physics. On this channel you'll find:
- Physics based art
- Scientific simulations & visualizations
Most videos are made purely with open source software such as Blender and Gimp.
Over the years I had some influential help that I would like to mention:
Martin Felke - Blender coder who wrote the tool known as Fracture Modifier (FM) a lot of my videos made use of.

Dipl. Arch. ETH Oliver Walter - Research partner for the Bullet Constraints Builder (BCB) software and related videos.

Some people have seen it; it was public briefly, but I'm still bothered by a small mistake. I'll have to update tomorrow. The video will remain online for members until then. Please don't share it yet. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The WTC collapse simulation comes with original audio generated directly from the simulation data β not stock Foley. The sounds are synthesized from the motions, accelerations and collision events of thousands of fragments.

A quick share: LiTU β Living in the Universe, an indie sci-fi film by my colleague Fergus, is now available on Amazon Prime UK.
The film was mostly made using Blender and includes a few scenes I contributed. It now has also a Spanish voice-over and English subtitles β German and Italian voice-overs were promised for the future, but donβt seem to be available yet.

Interesting! This video showcases how RFEM 6 and our Bullet Constraints Builder Add-On for Blender can be used to visualize building collapses based on real physical data, emphasizing the importance of open BIM for cross-software collaboration.

You asked about the WTC simulation: The eigenfrequency of the Twin Towers is currently being investigated in order to adjust the settings of the simulation solver so that it reflects reality as accurately as possible. Not particularly exciting, but if you have a real comparison example, you should take every opportunity to learn and improve your simulation.
