Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, and Emancipation Day, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. It is celebrated annually on June 19th. The holiday marks the day in 1865 when Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced the end of the Civil War and the abolition of slavery, effectively enforcing the Emancipation Proclamation which had been issued more than two years earlier, on January 1, 1863.

Juneteenth is a time for reflection, education, and the celebration of African American culture and achievements. Traditional observances include public readings of the Emancipation Proclamation, singing of traditional songs such as "Lift Every Voice and Sing," and reading works by noted African American writers. Celebrations also often include parades, festivals, and other community events.

In recent years, Juneteenth has gained increased recognition, culminating in its designation as a federal holiday in 2021.

This is a war on female sports! If you are a female athlete and you are co signing this you ought to be ashamed of yourself. You can kiss female sports goodbye. It's not fair to all the women who have worked so hard to be competitive in their field. All the women that stood by and wanted to get Britney back from Russia and for her to come home and make this stance. You didn't hear a peep out of a certain group when Britney was locked up overseas but yet she wants to put her voice on the line and go against the very women who had her back. Then you want to cry about the wage in the WNBA. Make it make sense.
