As a teenager, I felt so uncomfortable whenever I occasionally wore a saree. I was always scared the pleats would fall.
But with every wedding, function and festival, I became a little less conscious. I slowly learnt how to drape it my way, walk freely and stop checking the pleats.
Even now, my draping may not be perfect - but it is me, and this is my way of wearing a saree. We are all different, and perhaps that is what makes each woman look so special in her own way.

Why I still choose handloom…
