SSP Rao Anwar Ahmed Khan is one of the most controversial and widely discussed police officers in Pakistan's history. میر مرتضیٰ بھٹو کا قتل پاکستان کی تاریخ کے سب سے متنازع اور پراسرار سیاسی واقعات میں شمار ہوتا ہے۔ 20 ستمبر 1996 کی رات سابق وزیرِ اعظم ذوالفقار علی بھٹو کے صاحبزادے اور وزیرِ اعظم بے نظیر بھٹو کے بھائی میر مرتضیٰ بھٹو کو کراچی میں ان کی رہائش گاہ 70 کلفٹن کے قریب فائرنگ کرکے قتل کر دیا گیا۔
سرکاری مؤقف کے مطابق یہ ایک پولیس مقابلہ تھا، جبکہ مرتضیٰ بھٹو کے اہلِ خانہ اور حامیوں نے اسے ایک منصوبہ بند سیاسی قتل قرار دیا۔ یہ واقعہ ایسے وقت میں پیش آیا جب مرتضیٰ بھٹو اپنی بہن بے نظیر بھٹو کی حکومت اور حکومتی شخصیات پر شدید تنقید کر رہے تھے۔
