VANELLOPE VILLAIN SONG - RACER MILKYY DESIGN 💖 🍭

My racer’s design is based on candy floss and love heart sweets which have a general pastel color palette in shades of pink, yellow and green. I chose them to make my racer unique since none of the other Sugar Rush racers have used these sweet elements before and the colors compliment my skin tone really well! Since most of the girl racers in Sugar Rush wear upside down cupcake wrappers as skirts, unzipped frill ended jackets with stripes, funky leggings, a personalised headpiece and some chunky shoes, my racer also has these main elements ✨

My hair is made of shimmery candy floss and I have a hard translucent helmet with two hearts on the side. These hearts are an interchangeable accessory so that different words and symbols can be placed on my helmet. There are several hearts throughout my design to fit with my candy heart theme some of these hearts have music notes as little musical details. My leggings have a candy cane pattern with the use of pastel green and white colors to pair nicely with my cupcake skirt 🧁

My racing kart is a giant sprinkle filled candy floss with a dip in the centre for the practicality of a driving seat, steering wheel and windshield. It has a massive cone at the back to represent the kind of candy floss holders you would get at carnivals and this feature helps keeps other racers at a distance so they can’t ram into my kart during races. Melle added mesh heart headlights that have a dual speaker functionality and some music notes lining the exhaust pipe where melodies also play out of. The melodies depend on what’s happening in the race like if I win or want to distract other racers. Since heart candies usually have little messages on them I thought it would be cute to incorporate a racing term like ‘vroom’ on the wheels which also works really well as an onomatopoeia word. Of course I have a biscuit nameplate at the back so that racers don’t forget who just sped past them 😎

Vanellope’s villain queen dress contains matching elements to her racer outfit and kart which gives her a primarily chocolate, purple, turquoise and pink consistent color palette throughout my song. Once she crosses the Sugar Rush finish line in the movie her princess outfit transformation contains long sleeves with frilly ends, a royal cape and a large Medici collar variant with Vanellope’s hair tied up in a bun. I wanted to heavily deviate from that regal outfit to something more rebellious 🍭

Villain Queen Vanellope’s hair is worn down with a gold candy decorated crown that compliments the highlights in her hair. Her dress is a slightly off the shoulder style with pink feathery sleeves and a sweetheart neckline that is shaped by a turquoise icing heart with a swirl lolly at its centre. Candy pieces like sprinkles and swirl lollies are garnished around her outfit to give it a messy cake vibe which fits perfectly with her defiance! Her socks and shoes keep a similar style to her original outfit with the addition of heels and a different color combination for her sock stripes to match her villainous theme. There are also lot of chocolate details on this dress that tie everything together like her glistening ombre gloves, drizzled chocolate details that section her ballgown as well as form part of her turquoise candy necklace. Her dress comes across as disorderly and chaotic to represent her defiance 🍫

Of course Villain Vanellope had to have a cool racer outfit and kart for this song! Her racer outfit is inspired by the royal racing suit from the Sugar Rush arcade machine in the Wreck-It Ralph movie but instead of being white with turquoise and gold stripes her outfit is a chocolate color (similar to the color of her skirt in her original design) with shimmery turquoise and purple details. Melle added a swirl lollipop zipper pull and goggles with surrounding candy pieces that contain turquoise and pink colors to match the highlights in Racer Villain Vanellope’s hair. I really wanted yellow lightning bolts at the sides of her racer outfit as a symbol of general speed in a race but also symbolizing her glitch power that gives her a teleportation advantage against other races 👾

Her racing kart keeps the same base shape as the one she races with in the movie but with some edgy modifications like enlarged exhaust pipes and huge oreo wheels with sharp striped candy cane spikes for an awesome monster truck look! Her driver’s seat also has an oreo-based material with a lightning bolt to match her racing suit. The main body of her kart is a deep purple color with red and chocolate sprinkles to match the spikes and Melle added some strawberry headlights with a cream adhesive as a sweet final touch ✨
