Ep # 23 of the Rajasthan series. The very last episode, a simple flight journey back home. We started early on new year's day 2024, taking an auto to the airport, from where we boarded a flight to Hyderabad, from where we hopped on to our next flight for the final leg of the journey back home.

Ep #22 of the Rajasthan series, we had almost an entire day at Jaipur before flying back home the following morning. With Hitesh having planned to meet some of his friends, I took some rest, and went to explore the Jaipur Metro after lunch. I took it to one end, where I got to see the Hawa Mahal, and enjoy some khullad chai, and later traveled to the other end. Before returning back to the hotel, I stopped for a while at the Jaipur junction metro, and did some trainspotting from the metro platform itself.

Ep # 21 of the Rajasthan series, after checking into the dorm at Jodhpur, we began our journey back home the following morning, on board the Ranthambore Express. We were booked in its AC 3 Tier, coach B1, and leading our train from Jodhpur was a BGKT WDP4D. We had a chance encounter once again with the Palace on Wheels before our train arrived. It was pretty much an uneventful journey, the highlights were passing by the Sambhar Lake region and we eventually arrived Jaipur delayed by 45 mins, thanks to the slight fog.

Ep # 20 of the Rajasthan series, after the trainspotting session, Om ji drove us through some village roads, before joining the NH62, and we drove ahead till Chotila, where we stopped for darshan at a unique temple, of Shri Om Banna ji, a temple where a bullet motorcycle is worshipped. Following this, we drove ahead to Rohat, savoured some piping hot Kachoris, Mirchi vadas and Khullad chai again, and left for Jodhpur, where we had our accommodation booked in the railway station's dormitories.

Ep # 19 of the Rajasthan series, we woke up early to explore the farmlands of Om ji's family, take a stroll around the house, and then we left for Hitesh's house, visited his family and left for Jodhpur. En-route we made a couple more stops, to get the tyre issue fixed, a temple visit, and also a quick trainspotting session, luckily spotting a couple of trains before moving ahead.

Ep # 18 of the Rajasthan series, after returning from Barmer, we were joined by a special guest, Om Prakash ji, Hitesh's brother-in-law, who accompanied us, as we went from Barmer to Asotra, to get a darshan of Brahma ji, in a rare temple of his at Shri Brahmadham temple. It was a typical rural village ride in some places, with roads not having any streetlights, and Om ji's expert knowledge of the area, serving as our de-facto navigation.

Ep # 17 of the Rajasthan series, a treat for diesel loco fans, a visual and audio spectacle for ALCo fans, the very reason I dragged Hitesh all the way to Barmer was to undertake a journey to the border point - Munabao, and us getting an ALCo link to lead us was very special. A quick journey to Munabao and returning in the same train back to Barmer, and we didn't even realize 5 hours had elapsed. It was magical.

Ep # 16 of the Rajasthan series, after exploring the Jaisalmer fort, we set out towards Barmer, our next destination, while making a pit stop at Jaisalmer Railway station [JSM]. The intention was to capture a photo similar to the ones I had seen on my friends' social media timelines, I almost got it, but it was not perfectly timed or planned, as a result, the pic didn't come out as well as I had intended it to. Nonetheless, after spending some time in the station, we headed to Barmer, while encountering a few (mis)adventures on the way.

Ep # 15 of the Rajasthan series, after the second visit to Longewala, we checked out of our hotel, and returned to Jaisalmer. We had to explore the vast and massive Jaisalmer fort. It's the oldest living fort of the world, with residential occupation dating back to the 12th Century C.E. We met an excited chaiwala outside the fort, sought out some beautiful viewpoints inside the fort, got a chance to witness some live musicians and vocalists in play, during the exploration of this mesmerizing spectacle called the JAISALMER FORT.
