You know how certain songs can instantly transport you back to a specific time in your life? Well, there was this song that came out right at the end of high school. I remember it because it seemed so out of place for the era. It was about something so personal and private, and I couldn’t believe anyone would be talking about it in such a casual way. But if this song came out today, it would probably be considered pretty tame, wouldn’t it?
It’s a shame to see such impoverished people being shoved around, if not by the gas plants but by the horrific ISIS-associated terrorists. While the gas plants have “paid” compensation to those displaced, what good is money when you spent your life growing food on your own land only to be given a finite amount of money, not enough to buy land and surely not enough to sustain livelihoods.
