I haven’t been doing a lot of art lately. I’ve been working on an animated short that is taking most of my creative energy. I don’t want to spoil it too much though. I have been getting back into acrylic painting. It’s been fun to use a medium that is more tactile than digital art. It’s not my strongest skill but I don’t need it to be.

Due to a drawing injury and traveling the animations have been in slow progress but I want to assure you they are coming. I want to get through all 12 of the animation principles and I’m half way there! The series it’s been so much fun and I’ve learned a lot.

I've been avoiding making this post. I may even make a video just to make sure everyone sees it. 

I have been struggling with the decision of what direction my channel should go. I enjoy having a place to post my art but it seems like YouTube expects people to pick one thing and stick to it. I have so many creative hobbies but I feel like maybe I need to pick one for YouTube. I’ve enjoyed making my voice over videos but I don’t feel like it's really something for me. I'm not sure if I have anything to add to the art community and there are so many great videos out there. So with that being said I was thinking about changing my channel to an animation only channel. With the rise of AI I have been moving away from digital art for in person markets but I still love the medium and would like to continue making art that way without making it into a product. 

I am leaning towards animation but I would love your opinion on this. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this.🌻

I grew up reading wings of fire and I’ve heard that there is going to be a fourth arch. I’m not sure if I will ever read it but I’ve realized how much the series influenced the way I drew dragons. Though I don’t tend to make fan art of any kind I thought I’d be fun to paint a dragon inspired by the book series that changed the way I drew dragons. I haven’t done a lot of drawing lately. I’m a bit rusty but this was a fun, low pressure, way to ease back into it. He doesn’t have a name or back story, he exists simply because I felt like I just needed to draw.

How long would you need to participate and complete a DTIYS challenge?

If I do a little contest I want to make sure the majority who wanted to could participate. The picture would probably be a full piece but most likely have a simple background with a focus on the subject. I’m sure I will have a poll for that too :)
