Pythagoras in Boots

In-depth 'honest' tactical, topical and classical breakdowns of the beautiful game from a different angle.

Pythagoras in Boots is the home of elite football analysis on YouTube (we aim to expand to other sports as the Channel grows). Our shows cover classical, topical and tactical aspects of the beautiful game and we aim to provide analysis on football across the continent including the Premier League, Champions League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, World Cup and much more.

Where we believe Pythagoras in Boots stands out from its rivals is that we are not shy to have a conclusive opinion... the Pythagoras Perspective. If we get it wrong - so be it, but sitting on the fence is not an option and we hope our viewers will appreciate that refreshing approach.

➡️ Sunderland remain statistical anomalies — 3rd worst chance creation yet strong results 📊
➡️ Midfield weakness for Sunderland could shape the match (no Xhaka or Sadiki... can Geertruida do a shift?)

Apologies for the essay...

Goodbye to 2025... a highly significant one! Let us recap!

From becoming a dad for the THIRD time - welcoming my first son - to starting the year meeting Jordi Cruyff, to stepping into rooms and studios I once only watched from the outside. 2025 brought moments I’ll never forget:

💼I began the year negotiating my first football transfer in the January window involving a Championship club and I have just recently started my own Business and Sports Law Consultancy practice.

🤯Being a contestant on BBC’s Last Pundit Standing, getting to present in the match of the day studio, respond to live call ins on Five Live before landing a segment as the resident tactical expert for the Premier League show on Sky Sports. Earning an invite to SPOTY summed up what has been a breakthrough year in media.

💪Being hacked on X on 45K, but managing to get the account back and growing it to 80k+ followers. Pushing Insta close to 50k followers from 35K, and launching our TikTok account. Including YouTube (150K) - We are now 300k across all socials.

⚽️Watching both my girls begin their journeys in youth football. Watching the elder one in particular compete against the best boys and girls in her region and do well but more importantly enjoying herself and increase her passion for the game WITHOUT my input has been so rewarding to see... being able to pass on the passion for sport, where they can run away with it on their own terms is honestly the best feeling there is.

⭐️Meeting childhood idols such as Wayne Rooney. When you start off working in football especially on your own platform, you don't really think you're actually going to meet the people you based your own game on as a kid - so to know your work has led to that moment where you meet them in the flesh is super rewarding but even more so when they actually exceed expectations. Wazza for me was such a lovely person in the flesh, super humble - not everyone will be like this but to have a personal favourite be like this was awesome!

Off the pitch, It was also a year that reminded me how fragile life really is.

Whilst I cherished welcoming a new member into the family, seeing key members of my family unwell put everything into perspective. It forces you to confront how short life is and how important it is to make the most of every moment you’re given.

Yes, we all have responsibilities. We have families to provide for. But we also have a responsibility to enjoy life, to pursue what we love, and to not waste years doing something we’re not passionate about.

Sometimes that means taking risks. Betting on yourself. Stepping into uncertainty.

This hasn’t been the easiest year of my life. It’s demanded resilience, patience, and belief. Its involved a crazy amount of multitasking. But it’s also been one of the most fulfilling years I’ve ever had.

5 key lessons 2025 really taught me:

1️⃣ Believe in the quality of what you do. As long as you're not delusional and there is enough positive feedback, persist - even if there are naysayers.
2️⃣ Don’t rely on the mainstream. Build your own platform. Your audience, your people, your voice.
3️⃣ Be intentional about who you surround yourself with. Protect your mental health - some relationships drain more than they give.
4️⃣ Never stand still. Innovate. Push boundaries. Learn constantly.
5️⃣ Prioritise immediate family above everything i.e. the one you create. Time when they’re young is priceless. Having family whilst you're still in your prime pushes you, it drives you - don't leave it too late.

Goals for 2026:

Create content full-time. Move away from a full-time law roles into just consultancy. More football studio work. And more interaction with you guys who’ve supported this journey.

Thank you to everyone who’s watched, shared, supported, challenged, and believed.

Heres to a BIGGER 2026 Inshallah!
