Can’t believe we’re already in the 5th month of the year, wasn’t Xmas only 4 weeks ago?

These may be the last pictures in our winter coats, as spring is here in western Europe.

We are currently working on our May mix. While visiting Jimmi’s dad Roger in Luxembourg we’ve decided (actually our Patrons voted for it) that we’re gonna do another pancake session in Roger’s flat!

Since a lot of people commented that we were doing crêpes and not pancakes, this time we will do pancakes for real! 😃 Maybe even banana pancakes?

Our channel has just passed 100 million views overall! Wowi! Thank you all so much for tuning in!

Time flies so fast even though we only release one video per month. We’ve been on the road for 2,5 years and released 45 mixes… Looking at all the videos brings back good travel memories and we’re not sure if we would remember all the places in the same way if it wasn’t for these mixes.

Visuals help us remember and feel the memories and also make us feel again the emotions we felt during that time in our life. There were many different stages and many ups and downs during this journey of self-discovery.

Traveling can be exhausting and over-stimulating with all the new impressions from all the different places. That’s why we decided to get a Polaroid Camera to shoot some physical photos during our mixes, so we have additional material to keep all the adventure in our memories.

We are well aware that right now is a very precious time for us. For now everything feels right and we’re so happy that so many people of you watch the videos and enjoy the tunes.

Thank you all for being so loyal! Thank you for coming back to our channel over and over again.

Appreciation Post 💜

We would like to dedicate this post to our dear friend Adriel, who has been (and still is) a loyal companion on our journey of self-discovery. Adriel is not physically with us on this Flavour Trip but since 2013 we call Adriel a close friend who was there for us in bad and good times. For the past 12 years we had multiple creative projects, some together with Adriel and some where he was our friend & consultant.

As a trio we learned a lot by simply doing things, trying out, being vulnerable and taking risks. Talking less and doing more, that was always our motto. Another important motto we had and still have is that everything happens for a reason, even if in very bad times this is super hard to believe. From pretty much every bad experience there is something positive to take away. Never a failure, always a lesson.

No matter what creative project or business you’re doing, it is very easy to get lost in your own 4 walls and lose perspective on what you do, because you’re too closely attached to it. Having someone like Adriel, someone you can rely on for a third opinion, someone who knows you well and can give feedback from an outside perspective, really helps.

Thank you Adriel for still being here with us after all these years. We know you didn’t always have it easy with us because we’re very passionate and can be a little pain in the ass, quickly jumping form one thing to the other and doing a thousand things at once.

Adriel is an important part of our journey, long before Flavour Trip. Together with Adriel on our side, the three of us have learned and grown. We still have a lot to learn but Adriel is one of the reasons why Flavour Trip is what it is.

We love you and your family Adriel, see you later this year in Switzerland!

Flavour Trip is a safe space where everyone is welcome. We want it to be a place of love and freedom. A place of joy and peace.

The house music scene was born from a need for community for people pushed to the margins of society. So much of dance music culture was mostly generated and driven by black, hispanic, latino and queer communities.

First there was the early disco club scene, which eventually developed into house. These clubs provided safe havens for people who wanted to escape from social issues, enjoy a euphoric experience and be themselves without being judged. Music was placed at the very heart and used as a uniting force to bring people together and give them a home, a family, regardless of race, age, sexuality or gender.

House music is more than just music and we think it is important to remember where it came from.

It has and will always be about tolerance and inclusion. These are the values that grew from the very roots of house music and these values are still needed today. So let’s thrive together on love and compassion 💜

It feels so good to be back in Spain 🇪🇸 and get some rays of sun during winter times.

My favourite deep fried dessert is absolutely churros and it was exciting to try to do them ourselves! Jimmi and I have good childhood memories of eating churros with our families at the “Schueberfouer”, which is the largest funfair in Luxembourg 💫

In Miami Platja we enjoy the mountains, the sea, some bicycle rides along the coast and a few too many afternoon coffee breaks.

I love my decaf cappuccino with oat milk and I still dream about the one I was served there, the best one I had so far! - Amii xx

2024, what a year…

Before you read the following please keep in mind that these are only our highlights from this year. This doesn’t include the downs we had behind the scenes, self doubt, anxiety, sleepless nights and tears. Never compare your worst moment to someone else’s best!

That being said let’s break it down in numbers first:

We started this year with 277k YT subscribers and are now at 615k with 85+ million views on our channel. We’re close to pass 100k organic followers on Instagram and have 330 loving Patrons.
Flavour Trip would be nothing without all of you!

This year we released 15 mixes on YouTube from 7 different countries with a total of 22+ hours of music. We recorded a mix for Defected Records that has been viewed more than 1.5M times and we were part of Youtube‘s official ultimate DJ B2B mix. We had an amazing gig in Barcelona with the team of Drop Dance Society and in Luxembourg with Lauter Unfug. We also appreciate everyone who ordered something from our online shop, big thanks 🙏🏼

However, there are more important things than numbers:

We got to meet many beautiful souls from different backgrounds and we had the privilege to travel to beautiful places. We finally did a mix where we created an artwork with our 100k award (we had that idea for over a year already!). We got enough sleep this year. We are doing yoga regularly and Amii picked up drawing again. Jimmi is super productive in his music productions. We’re happy to have such good friends and work-mates who help us out Adriel & Lara. On January 3rd we’re gonna celebrate 1 year without alcohol 🥳 and we learned to appreciate our family and friends more, who we miss. We’re happy to finally have more stability in our lives and to gain back some time for other passions, like drawing for Amii and producing music for Jimmi.

There are several definitions of success and we feel the most important definition of success is prioritising yourself and your health in a busy and often overwhelming world 💜

currently in Spain & trying to get as much vitamine D as possible. December is here and we’re currently preparing the last mix of the year.

One downside of traveling and creating YouTube mixes is that mentally we’re a lot in the future: planing our next trip, choosing the next destination, finding the next songs, preparing the next mix, brainstorming about the next vibe and theme of a video etc…It’s often next next next…and the two of us sometimes end up overthinking things a lot more than is needed.

We’re not here to complain, just reminding ourselves that right now at the end of the year it is important to reflect back on 2024 before jumping already into 2025.

For those of you who have had a successful 2024:
Congrats! Be proud and make sure to cherish your accomplishments and take time to celebrate your achievements. We often forget that.

To those of you who can’t wait for 2024 to be over:
Please remember that you have made it this far. All the difficulties that you have experienced this year, the dark times that you had to go through, the disappointments and setbacks that you had to face…

YOU ARE STILL HERE AND YOU STILL MATTER. Try to be proud of the fact that you’re still here, that is a huge accomplishment, especially in a world that expects so much from you. You didn’t let anything bring you down because you are strong and that needs to be celebrated!

We want you to celebrate yourself at the end of this year and forget about new year’s resolutions…

Life shouldn’t always be about performance, becoming better, up scaling or having more achievements.

To be honest, we can get lost in thinking of how we can improve, how we can grow our channel and how our videos can become even more successful. It’s those thoughts, the pressure of wanting to become better, that can take out the magic of life and what you do.
Remember that you are enough already! The world doesn’t need a perfect version of you. The world needs kind hearted people with their imperfections.
