Love is the all way forward. Love is the answer to alignment, to nourishment, to abundance. Operating only through love. This age really taught me to love myself through it all. LOVE IS THE ONLY ANSWER - Kavisha 26.2.26

Had some thoughts
My path will not look like anyone elses. I never want to lose perspective of why I started and my one unique story. My story is my power. I want to fully give my all and commit with undivided attention to movement. I want to train deeply, care for my body and my mind, stay mentally clear as I build my identity. I am building my performer identity as I go everyday. And more than anything I need to believe my own inner voice over all the random opinions. It’s important to be protective of your energy especially when you are trying to establish your identity and figure out your journey. It’s not important to do more it’s important to be aligned, to work hard and take care yourself, grow, be kind to your own self, love yourself deeply, respect yourself and not lose yourself your perspective and your identity in the process to fit in. Most of the time we want to be more, do more to feel worthy but you don’t have to be more or less; you just have to be you. The energy I thrive in is the energy of kindness and nourishment. As my path unravels for me I hope I keep my values and my faith stay close to me while constantly evolving but only with LOVE. 21.4.26 - Kavisha Goel

What a great time to know about Misty Copeland. Last month when I couldn’t dance due to my ankle sprain which would take more time to heal than I thought I had no option; it was upsetting because I had just started my ballet journey again at the age of 22 after a lot of thoughts believing it will be a strong foundation for my professional dance journey ahead. It’s confusing cus I don’t see alot of people around me at my age choosing ballet. It’s a very new world to me. There were only 2 kids with me in that ballet class, not many dancers are taking beginner ballet classes atleast not at my age or the ones from commercial dance scene. I had a lot of questions but I decided to trust my teacher but I didn’t know anyone to look up or any prominent figures from this world. I stumbled upon a comment from Nicole Kirkland on a Nikes new campaigns post where she spoke about how they could let MISTY Copeland would be more appropriate for a ballet inspired campaign. I went on to search about Misty and watched her documentary and how she became the first black principal dancer and how she came out strong from injuries and surgeries and then I searched her Instagram and saw a post of her just having a hip surgery again in real time. I just learnt about her story and her real time story in a day. Her story of resilience. She has put Ballet before anything even herself again and again. And she is a living legend. I now got read her story in real time as I witnessed her OSCAR performance and it hold so much more importance due to the Timothy’s comment and her just coming out of a hip surgery yet again she put ballet before anything else to represent something much bigger than herself. All the social media reels from the ballet community on my feed gives me hope about choosing ballet myself. If I wouldn’t know about her or her journey maybe this Oscar performance won’t mean much to me but to see her represent ballet on an Oscar stage feels like now I am experiencing the part of her story in real time. Today she is speaking at met museum and I could experience it through her Instagram story. It’s like her story is unravelling in real time for me and now I can be a part of it. I got to know about her last month and I got happy while watching the documentary that she became a principal dancer and I learnt that she has retired even before I got to know about her and then through her Instagram I got to know she is going through a surgery in real time now and as she performs at the Oscars I can know about it in present time. So much of her story unravelled for me in 2 days and a month haha. I am grateful I know about her existence. I am grateful to see ballet becoming pop culture maybe I could find my connection in it too. But I am grateful to know about an icon like Misty Copeland —— I like how her story is inspiring to me in ways I haven’t seen before. She is solely known for being a ballerina. She is know for ballet and she has made a name in it. She has written books and she has a documentary. She runs a foundation for black and brown ballerinas. She has a strong identity and name for being a ballerina that’s so new story for me. You see famous actors and musicians but yes a ballerina that’s amazing!!!! Her career trajectory is very inspiring to me. She didn’t had to choose between being commercial or choosing art. She chose her art she chose excellence and that led to commercial relevance too. It’s amazing to know about her story. This is something I look up to. What an honour to know a living legend. The way she honour women before her who carved the path is also so beautiful. Grateful to learn about the GREAT ‘Misty Copeland’.
