LIFE IS INDEED...STRANGER THAN FICTION. Be Unique, think different. In this season of snow and football, I always am reminded of the (in)famous snow plow Patriots football playoff game where a convict from a nearby prison got a work furlough to drive a little John Deer garden tractor with a snowblower attached to help clear snow from the field at halftime. With the game on the line at then end of the 4th quarter, the Patriots were in position to kick the game winning field goal, but too much snow had accumulated for them to kick the ball so the quick thinking Patriots coach ran over and directed the convict to go out on the field and clear the area the ball was to be kicked from. He drove out onto the field at 4th down and since nobody had ever thought to make a rule about that, the Patriots kicker made the field goal and they won the game. So again, the old mantra, life is stranger than fiction stands. For great stories, look no further than family, friends, and your fellow human beings. We are always doing crazy stuff :)

So now I tread into dangerous territory: being a movie critic. I don't really want to go there, but sometimes you just got to say, WTF. WTF, Gone Girl?
p.s.. Quick story telling advice which I should have mentioned in the diatribe below - when CREATING FATE put some energy into. Effort. Smarts. If you want your character to leave his bourbon on the bar at 9 AM and rush home to find his wife missing, don't invent a lame nosy neighbor named "Watchful Wally" to get them from point A to point B. I mean come on, PLEASE. Solution? I can name a list so long I'd probably get carpal tunnel syndrome. Hmm, how about 1. "My house alarm just went off. See ya!", 2. "Storms coming in, gotta go close the kitchen windows." "No thanks, one bourbon is enough, gotta get home before my wife wakes up." "Oh man, I forgot my golf clubs and tee time is at ten!" So yeah, those were no effort solutions, but done correctly still beat the Watchful Wally hotline for wayward felines. WTF.
