Welcome to RC Plane Tech.
I started this channel in 2020. I thought I’d share some things I do in the RC Plane hobby including building RC Planes from Kits, how to build RC Balsa Planes off Plans, new and vintage kits, ARF planes, RC plane engines, radio controls, and yes - FLYING RC Planes and providing maintenance, repairs and modifications to RC Planes.
I share flight videos and other RC Plane subject videos like building techniques, flying, crashes, repairing, working with engines, such as RC Glow Engines (OS Engines and Saito engines) and Gas RC Engines such as DLE gas engines. I will also include flying EDF jets and building EDF jets. I will also like to do RC sailplanes or gliders, and stick and tissue rubber band powered balsa plane kits.
I'm not an “expert” but I have been building and tinkering with things my entire life that and maybe I can share what I know and also learn from others along the way.
I welcome comments and tips.

RC Plane Tech

Hello my RC plane friends. My gosh, had a bad weekend! I was hoping to jump into the Nieuport Build , but Sat morning I woke up to a ruptured water heater that flooded our kitchen and more. So I spent the entire weekend ripping out flooring, replacing plumbing, and a new water heater install, with multiple trips to home depot.. so that nightmare came to sort of an end, but unfortunately it destroyed all my time off. But I am planning on starting the fuselage this week, and will post a video soon! In the meantime, happy flying, happy building!!!!

The “foam” discussion 😊… Hello everyone! I recently posted a review of a EDF foam jet (Vampire) and I will be posting another review shortly of the FMS F-86 Sabre EDF. My intent with these reviews (which I have been lucky to have been asked to provide by a few RC companies) is sort of a stepping stone for me to a jet balsa kit build. And this is a fortunate opportunity for me to get some experience with electric power systems and RC jets. I understand the comments regarding “foam”. Foam is not my preference either. But it is a big part of the hobby and electric power is also a big part as we know. My focus here is on EDF power systems and RC jets, not so much the foam part. I hope that makes sense and I hope you will be interested in a jet kit build. I’m on my 5th balsa kit build of prop planes on the channel, over several years, and like the idea of doing a jet for a change of pace. Plus, I love jets as much as prop driven planes in my love for aviation. When it comes to modeling a jet we have 4 choices : a jet plane with prop glow or motor (yuck!), a glow powered ducted fan (well ok I guess), a gas turbine jet (no money, no honey for that), or an EDF. So to me, if I want to build a jet, it will be an EDF.
Lastly, I am fortunate that as the channel grows I do get approached by companies to promote products, I turn most down (lots of crazy stuff!), but the jet reviews seemed to fit into something I can do in terms of another kit build. Also I know that many of you fly electric power, and maybe this will be another way for my channel to relate to those flying electric as well. Hope that all makes sense. Hope to keep you all interested in the channel. Hope you will like to see a jet build. Thanks!

Channel Check in. Hello everyone. Thoughts on my latest video about the EDF Vampire. Yes its foam, its electric, its not the traditional content. But here are my thoughts on this. I plan on building a balsa jet kit next. I posted a few times about it. It will be a “traditional” balsa kit build, but a cold war scale jet fighter. Not foam. I have done several glow powered and a gas powered kit builds and have posted a few hundred videos related. Im looking for something a little different and a jet build seems pretty cool. Coincidently a few hobby companies “discovered” my channel and asked if id like to review a few jets. I have this Vampire snd a F-86 Sabre for review. This is a good opportunity to get some knowledge about electric ducted fan power, since the balsa jet I want to build is EDF powered. Im not giving up glow or gas or building balsa prop driven planes, and Im not moving into foam. Its just an opportunity to get some experience in preparation for a jet build. Hope that makes sense, hope you are interested in a jet build “pallet cleanser” . Let me know what you think. Here is what Im thinking to build:

In my last post I asked your opinion about a jet kit build. Here is a link to one site that has many. The F9F-6 Cougar is a candidate. Please tell me your opinion in my previous post POLL. This helps me decide what type of future builds may be interesting to people. This kit has a lower wing loading than other typical jet kits and is considered to be a good option for those new to jets (like me). It is a traditional balsa kit build. I’d have to research the motor and other guts needed to power it. To me this is a cool option if you like jets and want to build a kit instead of a foam ARF, and its certainly much more affordable than a gas turbine powered jet. It’s just a thought, tell me what you think, check the poll please, THANKS🤓

Balsa Wood Jet Kit! Please tell me what you think. I have always liked cold war jets, and I found a company that sells balsa kits. Full wood kit like traditional prop kits. They are electric turbine powered. This would be a completely new territory. So please share your thoughts:
