There’s been a lot of conversation around Nicki Minaj lately, but one thing she said stood out:
“It’s okay to change your mind.”
I agree.
People change their minds all the time — in life, in business, and in how they choose to move through the world.
Growth is personal.
Pivots don’t always need to make sense to everyone watching.
Sometimes a change isn’t about progress —
it’s about clarity, self-preservation, or choosing peace.
And that counts too.

Fun fact:
I love boxing.
I’ll sit, watch, analyze, and yell at the TV for hours—not just for the sport, but for the strategy. (Rocky IV is one of my favorite movies)
Boxing has the same energy as entrepreneurship.
The best fighters understand pacing.
When to push.
When to pull back.
When to let their opponent think they’re winning—while they study rhythm, timing, and weaknesses.
That’s business.
Like everyone else, I tuned in for the Jake Paul / Anthony Joshua fight on Netflix.
Love him or hate him, Josh understands marketing.
He knows how to command attention, stir emotion, and keep himself in the conversation—and that’s half the battle.
The University of Miami colorway worn by him and his team during warm ups?
A calculated nod to The Miami Hurricanes fans and legacy loyalty.
The Hulkamania gear?
Textbook rage bait. Controversy still converts.
Walking out with Tekashi 6ix9ine?
The talk will last well after Paul’s jaw heals.
While Jake Paul / Anthony Joshua was the main event,
The unexpected lesson came from the matchup between Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley.
Two fighters labeled “past their prime.”
The winner Silva (by knockout), is now headed to the police academy—starting a whole new chapter at 50 years old.
That is what I needed to hear. I watch so many of my friends start new careers and passions after 50.
And on my 53rd birthday, that message landed right on time.
Gen X has something to say

Recorded a podcast conversation recently about pivoting, identity, and redefining what freedom looks like in business.
It was one of those conversations that stays with you.
More soon.

Came for Paris - stayed for the Fashion
Emily in Paris returns tomorrow, and the wardrobe is the real reason many of us are tuned in.
The very first season had me hooked! Marylin Fitoussi, the French designer responsible for crafting the show’s bold, playful, and story-driven wardrobe understood the power of costume design.
Every look carefully added to the personality of each character.
Even supporting characters are styled perfectly! Making this show a fashion lovers dream!
The wardrobe continues to blur the line between television and editorial, reminding us that great costume design doesn’t just support the story… it is the story.
And judging by these red carpet looks from the cast, the fashion moments are just getting started.
Season Five premieres tomorrow (12/18).
Are you excited for the new season? And whose wardrobe are you most looking forward to watching this time around?

Art, Movies, and Legacy
I was talking to my son recently about Rob Reiner and how art leaves a legacy long after the moment it’s created.
My reference point was All in the Family. His wasn’t.
So I met him where he was—through movies he recognized: The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery. I reminded him that Reiner even directed André the Giant in The Princess Bride.
That’s when it clicked.
It reminded me that culture lands differently depending on when you were born. What feels obvious to one generation isn’t always the entry point for the next. Sometimes teaching requires translation.
Pop culture isn’t just entertainment. It’s context. It’s history we pass down through stories that still resonate.
Artists don’t just make work—they leave reference points. Long after names fade from headlines, the work remains.
That’s legacy.
If this resonates, I’d love to hear how you introduce culture, art, or creative history to the next generation. Drop a comment below.

Martha Stewart, Diamonds and Denim are what I did not expect on my Bingo card, but I am here for it.
Martha Stewart stays in the spotlight — and this time, she’s the star of American Eagle’s newest holiday denim campaign. Wrapped in head-to-toe denim (and diamonds, of course), Martha steps into a playful, all-denim “gift-wrapping workshop” for the brand’s Give Great Jeans campaign.
She told People she found the concept “delightful,” adding that after decades of helping people create beautiful holidays, joining a gifting campaign felt like a natural fit. And it’s working — American Eagle’s stock even jumped after her debut.
What I love most is how Martha continues to reinvent herself and stay relevant in pop culture. From magazine mogul to TV icon to Sports Illustrated cover star — and now a denim campaign at 80+ — she knows how to evolve without losing her essence. A true masterclass in longevity and reinvention.
Meanwhile, the campaign arrives after Sydney Sweeney’s earlier AE ad stirred controversy with its “Great Genes” wordplay. But Martha’s version brings a timeless, whimsical twist that reminds everyone why she’s still that girl in lifestyle culture.

Have you been following the press tour of "Wicked" For Good?" I was loving the looks, not too literal and more grown up. I researched to learn that Ariana Grande has teamed up with stylist Law Roach to create visual magic during the tour.
All of Ariana's looks have been intentional, reference-heavy fashion all tour long.
Here’s a quick rundown of the designers she’s worn, I love the mix of contemporary and vintage designers.
Thom Browne – Beaded bodice + full tulle princess gown (Singapore)
Gilbert Adrian (Vintage, 1952) – A rare historical pull that turned her into a fashion historian
Balenciaga (Pierpaolo Piccioli custom) – His first custom couture look for the brand
Givenchy by Sarah Burton – Soft Glinda energy in the prettiest pink
Bob Mackie (1997 archive) – A full-circle fashion moment
Givenchy by Alexander McQueen – A dusty pink corset moment with quiet strength
Rahul Mishra (custom) – Emerald City–inspired beaded bodice
Robert Wun – The butterfly gown that literally stopped everyone in their tracks
Ariana and Law are back in sync and telling a full story through fashion.
Vintage. Couture. Cultural references. Character nods. All intentional.
I’m not ready for the tour to end and I cannot wait to see what is next.

While people are often quick to criticize small businesses, one thing I always remind others — and myself — is this:
“No business owner wakes up saying, How can I give my customer a bad experience?"
We all have off days. But for small business owners, the true reward is in how we adjust, recover, and improve.
As a shopper this holiday season, what’s one piece of advice you’d give to small business owners to EARN your business?
As business owners, we’re always learning what matters most to the people we serve.
Your perspective helps us grow smarter, more intentional, and more connected to our customers.
Drop your advice in the comments — it might just be the insight that helps a small business shine this season.

Came in as a facilitator… left with new tools for my entrepreneurship and coaching toolbox!
After 8 incredible weeks of learning and growth, I had the honor of guiding “The Remix,” Mortar’s first Advanced Entrepreneurs cohort. Watching this brilliant group tackle challenges, create, and grow left me in awe.
Their curiosity, dedication, and excitement every week reminded me why I love teaching and mentoring — it’s all about lifting others and celebrating their wins.
A huge thank you to Mortar for trusting me with this role. Guiding this group has been a highlight I’ll never forget! I also learned so much and met some amazing people along the way.
Here’s to growth, learning, and many more milestones ahead!
💬 I’d love to hear from you: What’s one lesson you’ve learned recently that’s helped you grow? Share it in the comments!
