Rae of Light is a quiet, sacred space for those longing for a real, living relationship with God.
This channel is for anyone who feels weary, disconnected, or quietly searching — not for religion or perfection, but for intimacy, truth, and peace that comes from being known by God.
Here, I share honest reflections, lived experience, and practices rooted in stillness, listening, and relationship. This is a place to pause, to rest, and to remember that God is present even in the hardest seasons.
About Me
I’m Rae. My life has been shaped by deep pain and profound transformation. Through abuse, loss, grief, and seasons of confusion, I’ve come to know a God who heals, restores, and still speaks — not through performance, but through presence.
This channel is an invitation into a quieter way of knowing God and yourself.
You’re welcome exactly as you are.
P.S. You don’t have to have it all figured out...welcome!!!

Stillness is where it began.
Sometimes we don’t need to hear more.
We just need the noise to soften.

What to Expect This Sunday 🤍
If you’re new to stillness, meditation, or sitting quietly with God, I want you to hear this first:
You are not doing it wrong.
I spent a large part of my early journey with God feeling like a failure because I didn’t know how to “do” stillness correctly. My mind wandered. My body felt restless. I thought something was wrong with me.
Nothing was.
This is the learning curve.
Not the place to give up.
Stillness is not something you master. It’s something you learn to allow. And that takes time, patience, and a lot of grace with yourself.
This Sunday’s audio, A Quiet Moment With God, is not about technique or perfection. There’s no pressure to feel anything special. You don’t need prior experience, and you don’t need to quiet your thoughts before you begin.
Just come as you are.
(Close your eyes, listen to the words and the music if that helps you to center, relax, and calm your nervous system.)
This space is about unlearning what no longer serves you and gently learning a way of being with God that can support you for the rest of your life.
If it feels awkward, you are not failing.
If your mind wanders, you are not behind.
If it’s hard, you’re still welcome here.
That’s the work. And it is worth it.

I’ve created a quiet welcome for this space.
This season is slower. More listening. Less noise.
If you’re new here, you’re welcome exactly as you are.
Stay as long as you need.

For most of my life, what I saw modeled as “faith” didn’t look like love.
I grew up around church. I was involved. I listened.
But what I witnessed was gossip, judgment, and unkindness — even during services.
Something in me knew early on: this can’t be God.
I walked away when I was old enough.
I came back years later, wanting a foundation for my children that didn’t resemble what I had known.
But then life unraveled.
My daughter was diagnosed with leukemia.
Fear, anxiety, and grief took over.
Building a relationship with God wasn’t possible then — survival was.
After she passed, I spent years moving through numbness, anger, and finally acceptance.
It took a long time before I even wanted to change.
Longer still to understand how.
When I watched the movie Harriet, something clicked.
Not the history — the intimacy.
Her unwavering trust. Her ability to listen. Her relationship with God.
That was the first time I truly saw what faith could look like.
I asked God for that.
I didn’t know how it would happen. I just asked.
Six years later, everything about me has changed.
Not because I became religious.
But because I learned how to build relationship.
That’s why I share what I share here.
Not to convince.
Not to teach doctrine.
But to offer perspective for anyone who knows there must be more.
Take what resonates. Sit with it gently.

Lately, I’ve been in a season of rest.
Not inactivity, but silence.
And in that quiet, I’ve been reflecting on what it really means to hear God’s voice.
When I first began journaling, it didn’t look spiritual.
It looked messy. Emotional. Honest.
I asked a lot of questions.
I let my feelings spill out.
I wrote from confusion, not clarity.
I had a separate journal just for that. A place where nothing needed to sound right.
No editing. No fixing. Just truth.
That mattered more than I knew at the time.
There’s a scripture about asking God for what you want.
And in the beginning, that’s exactly what I did.
I asked Him to speak to me.
But asking was only the doorway.
The relationship was built in the silence that followed.
In showing up without knowing what I would hear.
In learning to stay present instead of reaching for answers.
Hearing God’s voice is not about studying harder or quoting more.
It’s relational. Intimate. Personal.
When you build a relationship with someone, you don’t read about them to know them.
You spend time with them.
You listen.
You learn their presence.
For many people, unconditional love is a foreign concept.
So recognizing His voice takes time.
This work still requires effort.
But it’s a different kind of work.
It requires intention.
Faith.
Belief.
And a willingness to stay in the quiet long enough to be known.
I’m sharing this because I believe someone needs permission today.
Permission to be honest.
Permission to be quiet.
Permission to begin where they are.
I’ve been sitting in a quiet season of rest, and this reflection came to me gently.
It’s about hearing God’s voice through silence, stillness, and relationship — not performance or learning, but presence.
If you’ve been craving quiet or feeling called to listen more deeply, this may be for you.
Take what resonates. Sit with it slowly.

🌸 The Heart of Consistency 🌸
The Quiet Power of Showing Up
Lately, I’ve been reminded that consistency isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence.
Some days I feel strong and grounded, other days I feel scattered and unsure… but even then, I still show up.
Because every time I return to God, even in my weakness, He meets me right where I am. 🤍
Ponder on this...
What’s one small way you’ve been showing up lately — even when it’s hard?

Even in rest, God is still working on us.
Here’s a quick reminder from an old video of mine, one that fits perfectly with where we are in the Becoming Her journey.
Self-awareness is where the healing begins.
