Rae of Light is a place for people who want a real, honest relationship with God.
This channel is for anyone who feels tired, disconnected, or quietly searching — not for religion or perfection, but for truth, peace, and a God who meets them where they are.
Here, I share reflections and practices rooted in stillness, listening, and lived experience. These are quiet moments to pause, breathe, and return to what’s steady when life feels overwhelming or unclear.
About Me
I’m Rae. My life has been shaped by loss, grief, and deep personal healing. Through it all, I’ve come to know a God who restores without pressure and speaks through presence, not performance.
This channel is an invitation into a slower, more honest way of knowing God and yourself.
You’re welcome exactly as you are.
You don’t have to have it all figured out.
Welcome!!! 🤍🤍🤍

Something has been sitting heavy on my heart, and I feel called to name it. 🤍
There is a growing habit within the Christian community of policing how people connect with God.
Prayer versus meditation.
Right practices versus wrong ones.
Who’s in and who’s out.
But God never asked us to manage someone else’s relationship with Him. 🕊️
Prayer, stillness, meditation, listening — these are not enemies.
They are simply different ways of drawing near.
God does not force Himself.
He does not control.
He does not shame.
So when our words create fear, confusion, or judgment, we should pause and ask who is really speaking. 🌿
Scripture matters, but scripture without love and relationship becomes a weapon.
No one in the Bible quoted a Bible — they lived in connection with God.
God has always restored the broken, the overlooked, and the imperfect.
That is His pattern. ✨
At the very least, we should be loving one another, praying for one another, and leaving room for God to work in people’s lives in ways that may not look like our own.
We are all children of the Creator.
And no one gets to take that away. 🤍
A new audio reflection will be shared later today. Please receive it gently. 🕊️

Many people are quietly wondering if they’re connecting with God the “right” way.💥
🌿Talking more?
🌿Being quieter?
🌿Praying differently?
What I’ve learned is that closeness to God doesn’t grow from pressure.
It grows from honesty.
This Sunday’s Stillness Sunday is for anyone who has ever felt unsure but still wants to be near Him.
If that’s you, I’ll meet you there.💕

There is a lot happening in the world right now.
Many people are carrying more than they know how to name.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, tired, heavy, or just a little off, there’s nothing wrong with you.
Stillness Sunday exists for this reason.
Not to explain what’s happening.
Not to fix anything.
Just to give you a place to breathe, settle, and return to God.
You don’t have to stay informed every moment.
You don’t have to carry the weight of the world alone.
You are allowed to rest your nervous system.
If you need a quiet place to decompress, you’re welcome here.
Every Sunday.
No pressure.
No expectations.
Just stillness.

Stillness is where it began.
Sometimes we don’t need to hear more.
We just need the noise to soften.

What to Expect This Sunday 🤍
If you’re new to stillness, meditation, or sitting quietly with God, I want you to hear this first:
You are not doing it wrong.
I spent a large part of my early journey with God feeling like a failure because I didn’t know how to “do” stillness correctly. My mind wandered. My body felt restless. I thought something was wrong with me.
Nothing was.
This is the learning curve.
Not the place to give up.
Stillness is not something you master. It’s something you learn to allow. And that takes time, patience, and a lot of grace with yourself.
This Sunday’s audio, A Quiet Moment With God, is not about technique or perfection. There’s no pressure to feel anything special. You don’t need prior experience, and you don’t need to quiet your thoughts before you begin.
Just come as you are.
(Close your eyes, listen to the words and the music if that helps you to center, relax, and calm your nervous system.)
This space is about unlearning what no longer serves you and gently learning a way of being with God that can support you for the rest of your life.
If it feels awkward, you are not failing.
If your mind wanders, you are not behind.
If it’s hard, you’re still welcome here.
That’s the work. And it is worth it.

For most of my life, what I saw modeled as “faith” didn’t look like love.
I grew up around church. I was involved. I listened.
But what I witnessed was gossip, judgment, and unkindness — even during services.
Something in me knew early on: this can’t be God.
I walked away when I was old enough.
I came back years later, wanting a foundation for my children that didn’t resemble what I had known.
But then life unraveled.
My daughter was diagnosed with leukemia.
Fear, anxiety, and grief took over.
Building a relationship with God wasn’t possible then — survival was.
After she passed, I spent years moving through numbness, anger, and finally acceptance.
It took a long time before I even wanted to change.
Longer still to understand how.
When I watched the movie Harriet, something clicked.
Not the history — the intimacy.
Her unwavering trust. Her ability to listen. Her relationship with God.
That was the first time I truly saw what faith could look like.
I asked God for that.
I didn’t know how it would happen. I just asked.
Six years later, everything about me has changed.
Not because I became religious.
But because I learned how to build relationship.
That’s why I share what I share here.
Not to convince.
Not to teach doctrine.
But to offer perspective for anyone who knows there must be more.
Take what resonates. Sit with it gently.
