Honestly, I had no intention or need to buy any gold that day.

Ashik: Anti, do you remember when we first moved from Bangladesh to London? During a long transit, you said, “We can only afford to buy something to eat here, nothing more.”

Me: No, I don’t remember. I’m not joking—I genuinely forget a lot of things.

Ashik: Then I said, “It’s such a long transit; let’s at least walk around and explore the stores. We can at least have a look at the gold shops.” And you replied, “Forget it. We’ll never be able to afford those anyway.”

Alhamdulillah, ever since that day, every time we’ve had a transit stop, he has bought me something—however small it may be. You could say it’s one of his little obsessions.

And honestly, that’s not a bad obsession for me. Alhamdulillah. ❤️
