Yesterday I got to play a oneshot in the new system Legend In The Mist! It's a fantasy setting with a very folkloric vibe that let me play up my extensive fairy tale experience in some very fun ways. Huge thanks to Runesmith for inviting me in, to my fellow players for making it a blast, and to the game devs Sons of Oak for sponsoring the stream!

The system was very easy to get a mechanical handle on (only 2D6 needed!) and surprisingly flexible in the story beats it could handle with its rules. Thanks to our Collective Player Shenanigans the story bounced between like eight very different genres, but never in a way the rules couldn't keep up with! Failure never stalled the story, and we got to keep moving forward even if the dice dictated that it wasn't in the direction our characters hoped. And even though it was a oneshot, we got to tap into the advancement mechanics and see how these characters could evolve in future game sessions!

It's RELEASE DAY! Aurora Volume 1 is officially out in the world! 🎉

This whole experience has been absolutely surreal. Thanks so much to everyone who's read the comic and supported the channel over the last few years - it's because of you that this story was able to breach containment offline and into the real world!

I don't know where things will go from here. The story's literally out of my hands for the first time. When the comic started, almost everyone who read it got there through the channel, with all the context that provided about me and my angles on storytelling. It's strange to think about people finding this story on shelves in stores or libraries and seeing it only on its own merits. It's a fear I haven't felt in a long time - the last moment on the diving board before the plunge.

I've missed it!
