As many of you know, I spend a lot of time thinking of not just music, for music’s sake but also the future of the industry. My background in the corporate world and my understanding of human nature derived from my marketing background often informs this.
Sometimes I have a positive view, a utopian view of a world with amazing tools to create music enabled by large language models. Other times, my view is a touch more dystopian, knowing mankind’s track record with technology.
This is a rather more dystopian take, but one that seems increasingly likely. Let me know what you think

Folks I highly recommend a recent video of mine, where I break down how Gibson and Fender market to you without you realising it. A lot of things we take for granted in the industry is essentially just Marketing 101 and you and I are party without knowing.


The video is doing really well with an average view time of 10 minutes for people who watched it (double as much as usual) but not that many people have watched it, so I have changed the title and thumbnail to more overtly call out my Professional credentials, which were needed to provide this breakdown.
