I have always liked playing Poulenc music. The first thing I played was the Sextet for woodwind quintet and piano way back in my undergrad. It always feels like the music never stops, it is a constant train that does not slow down.

Today was one of those days where everything went #wrong. Editing a video of a concert and the audio does not want to sync on one of the pieces...WHY!?...My daughter is sick...I get sick...Time to hang them up, #pray, and go to #sleep. Tomorrow is a new day.

Before learning to play the #piano, I took #violin lessons for a year. I was about 3 years old and it was the #Suzuki method. I decided to switch to piano because my grandma taught piano, we had a piano at home, the violin was rented, and voila, lessons right at home.

Thinking about my #abuelita tonight. She was my first #pianoteacher and taught me 5 times a week for an hour, or at least it felt like an hour 😂 She pushed me a lot, at 4 years old! She was a tough lady and at the same time the sweetest. She had the best laughter.
I wished she could see how much I have achieved and the #musician and #pianist I have become. Miss you!

Relearning the #Strauss #oboe concerto. It's uncomfortable to practice due to frequent key changes and awkward hand positions that suit violins but not the piano. Practicing with a recording to mimic the sound, as the piano makes everything sound crisp, not smooth.
